Welcome to Above The Line Leader Insights

Issue 000

Welcome to Above The Line Leader Insights presented by your's truly, Jason Ansley.

I can be best described as a:

  • Friend of Christ

  • Husband

  • Father

  • Trusted Advisor

While I don't intend to make this 00 issue about "me". It'll help you orient yourself to make sure you are in the right place.

The above best describes who I am as a person.

More importantly, it outlines my priorities and as you get to know me, you'll understand why I founded Above The Line Leader.

At...

OUR ETHOS IS SIMPLE

We believe everyone is a leaderā€¦starting with themselves!

Leadership In It's First Principle Form

Leadership = Relationships

  1. First with God

  2. Second with our Self (we call this Self-Leadership)

  3. Third with our Family

  4. THEN Others

You see, the Hustle & Grind culture is unhealthy and not sustainable. I know...I was a part of it for too long.

It leads to all sorts of ailments including isolation (which we are fervently against!).

Instead as leaders, we must build resilience in our relationships: tenacity & grit which comes from optimal Self-Leadership.

What is Above The Line Leadership?

This is a common question. Simply put, Above The Line Leadership is:

Operating Empowered & Aware
In Community; Ready to Grow

Itā€™s not enough to be ā€œopen mindedā€.
We have to actively contend in our Self-Leadership. Avoiding the dreaded drama that exists below the line to rise above the line for ourselves and our families.

Leadership Coaching and Leadership Consulting

Simply put, I help leaders through practical self-leadership principles to win in business, life, and impact.

So that you can: STOP BEING ISOLATED AS A LEADER and START LIVING THE INSPIRED LIFE GOD INTENDS FOR YOU!

Here are the different ways we can engage together.

In Closing

What else can I say to make this even more about me LOL...

Truth be told, I don't want it to be about me anymore.

After 30+ years of leading others, it took a life altering circumstance to close one season of my life and open this one. (If you are interested you can hear more about that via "My Biggest Leadership Lesson from a Forced One Year Sabbatical").

I'm slightly embarrassed to say that despite having mentors in my life and even preaching to others that:

Leadership = Relationships

Transparently, this is an area I've always struggled. And that's partly why this 00 issue is a little tough for me to write as I reform who I am, or at least how I lead.

So instead of isolating myself any longer.

Instead of continuing to consume, I'm choosing to produce.

And this Insights publication is one micro-step in that direction.

The direction of helping you with practical principles to win in your business, life, and impact.

So that together we can defeat isolation in leaders.

Despite being surrounded by people all day long in our leadership roles, when we leave the "office" (virtually or physically), leaders have a propensity to struggle in their Self-Leadership.

Which is a precursor to isolation.

When we get "home" we aren't as present as we should be. So while we are winning in business, our life isn't what God intends for us and our impact is an after thought (if we even have the capacity to think about it).

The solution is not what the current guru's would tell you:

  • "work harder"

  • "be the best"

  • "you have to dominate"

  • "the count resets a midnight, so wake up hungry..."

You know...planting your flag šŸš© in the Hustle and Grind Culture. šŸ™ƒ

Instead you need to build tenacity and grit...
in community and relationship with other leaders!

And as I mentioned above, God used my own little "family crisis" for me to realize this.

There were a number of aspects that facilitated the healing and recovery; but none more so than communities I plugged myself into on a daily basis!

It was the people I surrounded myself with, the time I spent communing with God, and the ways I improved my self-leadership that ultimately allowed me to survive...and begin to thrive again in business, life, and impact.

If any of this resonates with you...

Allow me to invite you into the life God intends for you as a leader!
