Well let’s be clearer now, Degen chain announced their “Build on Degen” program to attract the most skilful degens in the Web3 ecosystem.
Talks and workshops to help developers with their projects and integrations were a week long from Monday to Friday, April 15-19 in the ‘Deploy on Degen’ week.
Purpose of this Degeneracy?
Degen is just not another memecoin (if you have been living under a rock), Degen Chain is an Ethereum L3 that is propelling the Web3 ecosystem with a massive push from the community. Also just not backed by moonboys, but by skilful builders in the Web3 space.
The week-long program aims to onboard the most creative and Builder folks to the Degen ecosystem with a prize pool of 10 Million $DEGEN in the form of Grants to teams and developers.
A normal Hackathon would have multiple tracks with a core underlying requirement that needs to be met by the participating team.

Almost 300 teams were accepted, and 350 submissions were received. 40 winners won the crowning glory of the 1st edition of Deploy on DEGEN. A few honourable mentions below:
Jeeves (500,000 $DEGEN grant recipient): Farcaster first Degen superapp, increase sociability using social graphs.
Degencast (250,000 $DEGEN grant recipient): Farcaster native app for degens being built for communities to launch their own economies.
ATH on Degenchain (450,000 $DEGEN grant recipient) : distributed ATH token every time the token makes an All time high. Game launches next week.
King of the degens (450,000 $DEGEN grant recipient: Fun and easy-to-play in-frame game. Simplistic gameplay and design approach with an on-chain RPG characteristic.

Deploy on Degen has set a vision and path for the future of the Degen ecosystem and understanding the community functions for an L3 chain. This was just the beginning of something big.
