If you read my blog post last week, you know I was all about Egoblox, the Telegram mini-app that's changing the game when it comes to crypto payments. I shared my initial thoughts on how it simplifies things like buying airtime and paying bills using crypto, without the need for extra apps or complicated setups. Egoblox was impressive, but there were still a few hiccups.
Now, after spending more time testing it, I’ve got some new findings some exciting updates and a couple of challenges that still need ironing out. Let’s dive into Part 2 of my Egoblox review and see how far this app has come!
A Quick Recap: What is Egoblox?
If you missed my first post, here’s a refresher: Egoblox is a Telegram mini-app that allows you to
Buy Crypto easily
Pay bills (airtime, electricity, and more) directly through the app
All within Telegram no extra apps or VPNs needed!
It’s designed to make crypto payments more accessible and user-friendly. In theory, it’s a game-changer for anyone who wants to use crypto for everyday tasks.
What’s New? What’s Changed?
Since last week, I’ve had more time to dive deeper into Egoblox, and here’s what I’ve found:
Smoother Payments While there are still some kinks to work out, Egoblox has made significant improvements in payment processing. There are fewer hiccups now when it comes to sending airtime and paying bills. However, some users did encounter a few instances where recipients didn’t receive the airtime when they paid with ETH, which is something that needs attention.
The App Is Still Easy, But… The app’s simplicity is its strongest suit. It’s super easy to use, which makes it ideal for crypto beginners. That said, some new users have mentioned that they’d appreciate a little more guidance—so tutorials or tips for the first-time user would be a great addition.
Where Can Egoblox Improve?
Even with its potential, Egoblox still has a few areas to grow in:
Payment Options Currently, Egoblox only allows a handful of payment types (buying airtime, paying bills). It would be amazing if they could add more options like shopping with crypto, or even subscriptions. The more we can do with crypto, the better.
Tutorials and Guides Crypto isn’t always intuitive for newcomers. So, adding some easy-to-follow guides for beginners could help more people get comfortable using the app. Not everyone is familiar with how crypto works, and a little guidance could go a long way.
Multilingual Support The world is global, and crypto is for everyone. Adding support for different languages would make Egoblox more inclusive and user-friendly for people around the world.
Improved Customer Support One of the things I’ve noticed from users is that customer support could be more responsive. When issues arise, it can be frustrating if there’s a long wait time for assistance. Faster response times and more comprehensive FAQs would help users feel more confident using the app.
Expanded Crypto Payment Options Right now, Egoblox only supports a few popular cryptocurrencies. It would be awesome to see more options, like stablecoins or other altcoins that users might prefer for transactions. This would give users more flexibility and choice when it comes to making payments.
Transaction Speed & Confirmation Sometimes, there’s a lag when making payments or receiving airtime. While crypto payments are generally faster than traditional methods, improving transaction speed and reducing confirmation times would enhance the overall user experience, especially for time-sensitive purchases.
More Integration With Local Services Currently, Egoblox supports a few bill payments like airtime and electricity. It would be beneficial to see more integration with local service providers for things like internet payments, school fees, or even transportation. This could truly turn Egoblox into a one-stop-shop for all daily payments.
Is Egoblox the Future of Crypto Payments?
The potential is huge, and while there are a few things to iron out, Egoblox is on the right track. It simplifies crypto payments and removes a lot of the complexity that often comes with using crypto in day-to-day transactions.
And here’s the best part; Egoblox is evolving! The developers are actively listening to feedback and making improvements. This gives me confidence that they’re committed to making this app even better as time goes on.
