I've been talking about creating a newsletter for ages.
Of course, in classic Alex fashion, I over-committed to enough jobs and projects for 10 humans, pushing the theoretical newsletter into the chaotic depths of my ADHD brain...
But things have changed recently. Big change. Gud change.
So it's time to do the damn thang.
Welcome to the Mack Minutes Newsletter.

What's it all about?
The main goal of this newsletter is to consolidate all art and life updates into a single publication, notably including:
Art drops & listings. Everything from upcoming mints to presales, collector updates, digital and physical art listings / availability, and whatever else that is relevant to the enjoyoooors.
Collaborations & commissions. I have some very exciting collabs and announcements coming within the web3 space. You can bet updates and sneak peaks for those types of projects will be shared here first
Life & adventures. Most of my art is powered, and inspired, by the great outdoors. Now that I'm a full-time artist I have the flexibility to seek out more adventures, more often. This newsletter will be filled with BTS, trips and life updates.
ADHD tangents. Self-explanatory. Sometimes I have more philosophical (or shitpost-worthy) thoughts on the web3 space, for those who want to dive a little deeper 😉
Format: all-inclusive for the neurodivergent frens
We don't all have time to read a long newsletter and paragraphs of random tangents. So I figured I'd provide a format that covers most bases of time and attention span:

TLDR. We love a quick summary. This will be at the front end of each newsletter.

What's new, Alex Mack?
I'll keep this one brief, with more extended storytime in the next newsletter:
Officially a ~ full-time artist ~. After over a decade as a cardiac physiologist (i.e. heart / high-altitude researcher) I've officially left full-time academia. As of June 1st 2024, Alex is a full-time artist, photographer, and contracting scientist. This means I get to spend the majority of my time creating and growing as an artist, and will take on the occasional research expedition when it fits. This has been a long time coming (been basically living two lives for the past two years in anticipation of this career changes)... I am joyous, exhausted, relieved and reinvigorated.
Big adventures incoming. In just over two weeks I'll be heading to the Canadian Rockies for two weeks' work at a remote mountaineering camp, and another week or so of backcountry adventures... ahead of returning to Vancouver to run a hiking clinic with Arc'teryx and then heading straight for the desert. LFG.
Incoming art drops. A few collabs upcoming, including something that is physical, but not a print... points to anyone who can guess what that is 👀
