Ideally, I'd not do a newsletter. I've tried multiple attempts earlier and each one was abandoned after a few enthusiastic posts. But, here's to another optimistic foolish try. Let's see how it goes.
I recently joined this program called Buildspace run by Farza and team. It's a great program to do "anything". Literally anything! There's programmers, artists, musicians, writers, you name it. It's worked wonders for my inspiration for this newsletter to be honest. The vibe is crazy. Makes you wanna do something. Anything. I had several ideas to what to work on during the 6 week program they have. But just went with what I was already working on, DripVerse.
Or more accurately, what DripVerse is slowly pivoting towards. We decided to pivot DripVerse towards only Gaming Industry instead of being a generic Stack. It's still a bit far off and I don't think I'd be able to finish it completely in 6 weeks anyway. Given 3 weeks have gone by already and all I've is a mock-up of what that new design will look like. π
However, what really drove me was that seeing other people work, removes that isolated feeling that I had before. Some days, I would not push a single line of code, while other days I worked like 72 hours straight and ended up getting sick. π₯² Duh! I'm not 24 anymore. So, I see everyone creating their own version of "this is me" with their respective house or other details and post on X, Instagram, Tiktok (only saw on stream cause it's banned in India π ), Linkedin, and so on. But this led me to set up an NFT collection just for this.
Designs for this took the most time. Code was mostly up already. Some bug fixes at most. After about 7-10 iterations, this design above seemed like the best bet. And off we went... Nobody really participated in it though, lol. The only other person to mint NFT is my friend who I dragged into doing it. XD
What really followed a series of updates to the platform and pushed me towards a better design for the gaming marketplace. I now have several references and also got feedback on the idea from several folks on how the positioning should be. This is great. Absolutely fantastic! I learned that what I thought was clear enough apparently was still jargon to a lot of people. I've been working in web3 since 2016 so it's easy sometimes to forget that it's probably still alien for the rest of the world. And surprisingly, there's a lot of people still who couldn't relate to it at all.
So, what is this newsletter about? It's about what's happening, something interesting to share, to note or something new learned. It's for the forgotten TILs and never ending inspiration from the past me to the future me via the present me. I'll also share new tech from time to time and things to note that you might enjoy as well. Hope you're in for the journey!
why now? cause it's a great to start... cause there'll never be a better day... cause why not...
who is it for?
It's for the tech geek in you who's ever curious. It's for the web3 learner and professional to stay updated as well as learn together with me.
