Dudley’s New Companion
Dudley has recently found a friend, Diamond by name,
And if ever he wanders, she will bring him back just the same.
Each day they share the morning commute, traveling in the school van,
Diamond steps on board, with her usual confident elan.
With a cheerful greeting and a playful grin,
Dudley makes Diamond laugh, confessing his love for sweet pickles once again.
They settle into their seats, the journey soon underway,
Diamond engages with her screen, while Dudley watches the world sway.
Together they spend their school days, inseparable as can be,
Dudley and Diamond—friends as close as friends can be.
Lunchtime arrives, and they share their meals at the same time,
Both pack their lunches, avoiding the cafeteria line.
As the day concludes, they ride the van back to their street,
Diamond steps off first; Dudley follows, their day now complete.
Going to school with friends is an experience Dudley values immensely,
And back at home, he chatters non-stop, joyfully and relentlessly.
He shares tales of Diamond, his newest, dearest friend,
And assures his old pops that she’ll find him if he ever should bend.
