Results on Community Support

A week ago, I wrote this, a post called “Thoughts on Community Support” that was the explanation and initiation of a plan to support my homie Shawntel, one of my favorite folks in web3. The plan promises you a song of mine, Oh Yes, if you had collected an edition of the Lotus Flower Bomb NFT from Shawntel. The idea is that artists can find more direct ways to support each other by offering something tangible (digitally tangible?) to people who support your internal communities. I keep wanting to say intracommunity, which autocorrect didn’t flag so that’s what I’m saying.

After throwing up a series of tweets about the article, the response was amazing, and within 48 hours we had sold through all 20 editions! Honestly, I didn’t think it was going to work. I wasn’t sure if using my platform to leverage getting someone else paid was going to work. I was shocked enough that it hadn’t sold out before I decided on this idea. It worked though, thanks to the community supporting the community. Love it.

I don’t have much to say besides thanks(!) and this is really cool. I hope this inspires someone else to take the initiative to support and uplift someone in their community. If you supported this initiative with supporting Shawntel’s Lous Flower Bomb NFT artwork, get yours now by clicking here. Just pay gas. ✌️
