Onboarding people to Web3 has always been a tricky topic. Confusing user experiences, new jargon, and thinly veiled scams have all played a role in keeping people away from a lot of the more interesting features Web3 has to offer.
For ReFi, which relies heavily on the end user interacting with smart contracts and reporting off-chain activity, onboarding is a particularly important topic. Because without end users, the impact of all the building being done in the space is feels a little bit empty.
But it's also a question of who to onboard. Web3 isn't for everyone, yet, so perhaps the best place to look is the non-Web3 impact community. They are already motivated to make impact, after all. Reward mechanisms may be just what they need to make their work more sustainable.
This is exactly what Trinity Morphy explored in this week's article, even going as far to introduce a new onboarding initiative called The ReFi Club.
Building on this experience, the ReFi Club would provide these impact enthusiasts with sufficient education on Web3 tools like wallets and ramps, common crypto transactions, cryptocurrency risks and security measures, and finally what ReFi is all about. We will be organising month-long Web3 workshops to ensure that the enthusiasts are grounded and comfortable enough in using the tech. Because interacting with some Web3 projects involve multiple processes, we will be providing ongoing technical support to help their navigation.

This Week: Participating in Octant Epoch 6 Snapshot Vote
It's no exaggeration that Octant has been and continues to be a central part of the public goods funding ecosystem.
We at CARBON Copy are honoured to have been accepted into the Epoch 6 Snapshot vote and listed along side legendary projects like web3.py, Blockscout, Snapshot, and Pizza DAO. The top 18 out of 47 projects make it through to the allocation round.
We currently sit in 29th place, so only a few more spots to go to get into the top 18!
