Happy Friday!
Two quick comments on a couple of news items this week.
1) Azos Finance launches incentivised testnet
In our opinion, Azos is one of the more interesting pre-launch projects in the ReFi space. On the surface, it's a protocol that will support the launch of a stablecoin ($ZAI) backed by on-chain impact assets. But what we're excited about is that users need to deposit impact assets in order to mint $ZAI. For the first time, we may see on-chain demand pressure for impact assets like solar plant ownership NFTs (and the requisite verification/valuation layers that come with it).
2) ReFi Hub pays out first yield to investors in Brazilian solar project
We shouldn't understate the importance of a ReFi project delivering on its regenerative aspirations. In this case, using the revenue generated by a solar plant to pay out yield to retail investors. This is the dream right here: facilitating capital from investors to regenerative projects and back. We will need a lot more of this if we ever hope to fill the massive climate funding gap.
