A little over eight years ago I wrote that I was thinking about leaving Tumblr. More interestingly though, the headline of that post went on to say that I was "Looking for a Decentralized Blog Network"! I even explained what I meant by that:
In functionality my ideal system would be quite similar to Tumblr + Disqus but would use something like Onename as its identity system. Every post (and comment) would be signed with an identity and it would be possible to follow content based on identity independent of publishing location. For content storage it should be possible to plug in a decentralized file system via IPFS.
I am super excited that as of yesterday, Continuations is running on Paragraph. While not entirely there yet, Paragraph provides many of the features that I was looking for, including native support for crypto identities, as well as decentralized permanent storage using Arweave. There are some other nifty features already supported though, such as the ability of readers to mint posts. I am still debating how many copies of posts to let people mint. Let me know if you have suggestions for that!
