If you’re on Warpcast, you’ve certainly heard about Ham, its /lp channel, and the next token to do 100x ($TN100x). On the occasion of the first airdrop distribution and the launch of the new layer 3, I will try to summarize the most important aspects of this ambitious and fun project in this article. Starting from the Warpcast channel and its activities, you will discover what Floaties are and how to use them, how to interact with the network born on Base, and which are the most promising projects already available.
Ham Fun
On Warpcast, you often come across emoticons that are not just emoji but tools to send tokens to our contacts. Well, at the heart of these tools is ham.fun, a project that aims to implement social connections on decentralized platforms in a fun way. Until the network launch, Ham’s main products were Ham tips, Floaties, and Based LP NFTs.
Ham Tips
By participating in activities on Warpcast and particularly on the /lp channel, Ham’s home base, you can receive a ham emoticon in the comments, which is a tip in Ham. These tips are equivalent to a certain amount of $TN100x, “The Next 100x Memecoin on Base,” a token that powers the Ham ecosystem.
The first airdrop was distributed on June 5th to all eligible users for a minimum amount of 2500 $TN100x. If you’re eligible, you can claim here. With airdrop season 2, the tip system will be fully onchain and tokens will be sent directly to the recipient's wallet with ratio 1 HAM = 1 $TN100x
To receive a daily allocation in Ham and tip our favorite creators, you need to hold at least 100K $TN100x or a Based LP NFT in the wallet connected to Warpcast. To post content on the /lp channel, however, you must have the 100K $TN100x or a Based LP NFT in the wallet or possess the power badge.
Floaties
Floaties solve the long-standing problem of microtransactions on the blockchain. These are emojis that represent a certain amount of a real token. By purchasing Floaties on ham.fun, you can insert these emoticons in a comment on Warpcast to tip the post’s author. Unlike Ham tips, which turn into $TN100x at the end of the airdrop campaign, the tokens contained in a floaty are sent directly to the recipient’s wallet connected to Warpcast.
Let’s take a practical example: the floaty for 100 $TN100x is the unicorn. To purchase some Floaties and send tips in $TN100x, simply connect the wallet on ham.fun/floaties and decide how many Floaties to buy (if we buy 50, we can send 50 emojis, thus 50 tips). Each floaty contains 100 $TN100x (the amount varies depending on the token). To buy Floaties, besides the network fees in ETH, you will need to pay a fee in $TN100x, the ecosystem token. You can send multiple Floaties in a single comment, as shown in the image.
If your tip is successful, @floatybot will send you a confirmation message with the amount of tokens sent. If you do not receive this message, you have probably run out of Floaties. Currently, more than 30 Floaties associated with as many tokens, including $NOM, $DEGEN, $PILL, $DUDE, and $USDC, are available, with more to come. Floaties can also be sent on Twitter: just link your account on ham.fun/floaties and, when you want to tip, insert #ham before the emoji in the comment.
Based LP NFT
Based LP is the core NFT project of the ecosystem. These assets, collateralized with $TN100x, are designed to ensure the token’s liquidity and reward holders. Based LPs can be burned in exchange for a certain amount of $TN100x. 60% of the tokens underlying the burned NFT are sent to the wallet holding the NFT, while the remaining 40% increases the value of the remaining NFTs in circulation. With this system, those who hold the NFT longer will be entitled to a larger allocation of $TN100x. Based LP NFTs can be purchased (at a significant price) on SudoSwap.
Ham Chain
A week after its launch, Ham’s layer 3 is becoming an important reality for the most based users. According to data reported by Syndicate, which provided Ham with the network infrastructure, in these early days, the network has recorded over 1.5 million transactions, nearly 40K wallets, and more than 2K contracts.
Before exploring the most promising projects, you will need to add the network to your wallet and load some ETH for fees. These operations can be done directly on ham.fun/bridge. Connect your wallet and click the appropriate button to add the Ham chain in a few seconds. Once this is done, still on the same page, decide how much ETH to bridge to Ham (I recommend finishing the reading to better evaluate how much to transfer).
Sending ETH from Base to the Ham chain takes a few seconds, whereas it takes 7 days to bring your ETH back to Base.
Once you have some ETH on Ham, you are ready to explore.
BBQ Swap: Always start with an exchange. BBQSwap is a DEX in true Uniswap style but with some really interesting farms. Trade among the dozens of available tokens, including $BBQ, provide liquidity, and deposit your LP tokens in the farms. Of the four currently present, three have four-figure APRs.
Once Upon: Every chain worth its salt has its block explorer. Once Upon is the native explorer of Farcaster that will allow you to see what happens not only on the Ham Chain but on the various Layer2, L3, and testnets present. Naturally, it also covers Farcaster.
Ham LP NFT & $PHAM: The Ham LPs, like their counterparts on Base, are not just PFPs but are collateralized in the $PHAM token, a new memecoin itself collateralized by 6 tokens from the Base ecosystem ($TN100x, $TYBG, $DEGEN, $DOGINME, $BMX, and $CHAD). $PHAM can be purchased on the Base network directly on ham.fun/pham. As with the Based LPs, Ham LP NFTs can be burned for 60% of the value in $PHAM. The remaining 40% goes to the allocation of the remaining NFTs. The 1000 Ham LPs put on sale at the chain launch sold out. We are waiting to see their value on the secondary market.
Ham Punks: Like their Degen Punk cousins, the 10000 Ham Punks are NFTs stored completely on-chain. The collection, created by @apex777, was launched along with the chain and sold out in a few hours. It’s still possible to buy and sell Ham Punks on the dedicated site by placing (or accepting) an offer through the Floor Roulette. Through the specific Roulettes, you can also make offers on Punks with specific traits (Hoodie, Zombie, or Ape), but they will have a higher base offer.
Poster: The most famous anti-canva in web3 arrives on Ham Chain. Create unique memes and graphics with the tool provided by the platform (there is also a completely free AI image generator) and post them directly on the Warpcast channel you prefer. If you wish, you can also publish your creation as a mintable NFT directly on frame! On the portal, you will find trending posts published through Poster, and on your profile, you can check your posts and your future token allocation.
Besides those presented, other dApps are about to arrive on the chain, including ProxySwap and SudoSwap (where we expect to find Ham LP NFTs). Others, such as Airstak or Mint Club, are available on both Ham and Base Network.
Leaving aside the “fun” aspect of the project, with the chain launch, Ham has taken a leap in quality and has positioned itself as a pillar of the Base ecosystem. During this long on-chain summer, we will see which layer 3 can best capture the attention of users and investors.
