Berachain is an EVM-Identical Layer 1 blockchain utilizing Proof-of-Liquidity (PoL). This means that it changes from the normal Proof-of-stake to a consensus mechanism which prioritises provision of Liquidity.

Building on Berachain ensures that decentralized applications are the first to benefit, fees earned from the network are redirected at these decentralized applications, and Berachain is also highly compatible with Ethereum Ercs and Evm standard.

$Bera serves as the native gas and staking token for Berachain, powering the network. $Bera is used to pay for transaction fees, and perform activities throughout the network. It has a total supply of 500,000,000 tokens. With 20% allocated for the ecosystem.
