We at Daylight Energy are thrilled to announce that today we are officially launching Phase I of Daylight’s incentivized testnet, opening up onchain rewards for our community and participants.
Our Road to Mainnet program is divided into 3 testnet phases: Dawn, Daybreak, and Daylight. Each phase has a key focus, and rewards will adjust dynamically with each phase based on its goals.
Phase I: Dawn, the current phase, focuses on network growth and energy device connections.
Phase II: Daybreak, will bring the launch of the Daylight Pulse energy meters.
Phase III: Daylight, the final phase, will focus on a full test of all of the protocol’s onchain components before mainnet goes live.

To kick off Phase 1 of Daylight’s incentivized testnet, here is a simple guide to help participants and the community understand how to get involved and support on the road to mainnet.
Daylight Lumens 🔆
Lumens are an onchain, non-transferable token on Base Sepolia that act as an accounting mechanism for participants’ interactions and contributions to the Daylight testnet. The Daylight core team will post Lumen balances onchain as they are earned. You can view your Lumen balance in the Daylight app, or with a Base block explorer like Basescan.
In certain jurisdictions, Lumens can be redeemed for items like gift cards and Daylight swag from the Daylight shop in the App. Please note that redemptions will not reduce your ability to earn future incentives - your cumulative Lumen earnings will be the most important metric, regardless of whether you redeem them or not.
Earning Lumens
There are 3 main mechanisms for earning Lumens in Phase 1: Dawn.
1. Network contribution rewards
2. Social engagement rewards
3. Referral rewards
All 3 require you to download the Daylight app and create an account. The Daylight App is live in the US App Store and Google Play Store, with the following countries to follow very soon and more coming in the next few weeks (vote to have your country included in the next batch)

Network Contribution Rewards
Network contribution rewards are earned for contributing directly to the protocol testnet. These actions include connecting energy devices, completing energy quests, and interacting with your devices in the app. Here is the current network contribution earning schedule:
Social Engagement Rewards
Participants can earn Lumens for social engagement, contributing to the growth of the protocol’s brand and in support of general awareness. Users can link their X account to their Daylight account in the Daylight app. Here is the current earning schedule for social rewards:
Referring others to participate in Daylight testnet
Every user has a unique referral code viewable in the Daylight app under “referrals”. You can share these codes, and whenever a new user downloads the Daylight app and creates an account with your code you will earn Lumens according to the table below. You can also text friends referral links, or use the embedded QR code in the app.
