Medus is the first sleeper to have trodden the mists of the slum. The inaugural dweller of this ominous place. Living in sync with every creak of wood, with every shift of mist, he is, in a way, the essence of the slum.
He is one of the most promising sleepers due to his extraordinary mastery of mirage projection. His sharp wit and obsession with improvement have allowed him over time to project increasingly complex and dangerous mirages.
Despite his popularity among the residents and his ability to adapt and socialize easily, Medus is a solitary sleeper. He has long deserted the slum, spending most of his time meditating or sleeping on the outskirts of the city's remotest temples. Although he is a sleeper, he hardly ever truly sleeps. He practices polyphasic sleep with disconcerting ease, allowing him to remain constantly vigilant and alert. He has the habit of using his mirages to roam around the slum, bringing back every detail of what is happening there.
Medus emits such a murderous aura that it's difficult to stand beside him without suffocating, yet he constantly conceals it when in the company of other sleepers because he dislikes drawing attention to himself more than necessary.
His constant need to send his mirages to observe people leads us to believe that despite choosing solitude, he feels weighed down by it. Knowing what his former companions, his past loves, are doing helps him alleviate the nightmares that haunt his daily life.
