Phase 01: Launching RumourCast
In the initial phase of our journey, we introduced the Clanker token and launched RumourCast—a new Farcaster client designed entirely around the art of spreading rumours. Every rumour begins with the phrase, "I heard a rumour..." This client builds on the foundations of the popular Anon Cast but with a unique twist.
We’re aiming to go further—though, if you believe the rumours, that’s already in the works.
During this phase, we successfully launched our client at rumourcast.xyz, attracting a small yet active community eager to test and share rumours. While the platform has gained traction, we’ve identified some persistent bugs affecting the mobile experience.
What’s next?
Phase 01 is nearly complete, but a few key tasks remain:
Resolving mobile-related bugs.
Expanding RumourCast’s functionality to work on X (formerly Twitter).
Enabling image casting within the client.
Dynamic holder prices based on mcap.
(Potential Clanker Token Creation: Options are still under exploration)
Phase 02: Building the Frame for RumourCast
The complexity of zK technology and the unique mechanics of RumourCast prevented us from including a casting frame in Phase 01. As a result, this feature was shifted to Phase 02.
While exploring options for implementing the frame, Warpcast introduced Frames V2. This innovation allows us to create a RumourCast frame much more efficiently. However, despite the potential for faster development, this remains a technically challenging feature that requires careful attention to ensure it’s done right.
The frame will play a crucial role in elevating the RumourCast experience—bringing us closer to our vision.
Phase 03: Minting rumours.
In this phase, we’re exploring the future of rumours:
Will they ever come true?
Were they real, or just whispers all along?
And how might they intersect with collectability?
Phase 03 introduces the ability for users and community members to mint rumours directly from the client, with these minted rumours being collectible NFT'S. Each rumour will have a limited mint capacity, determined either by the rumour creator or set to a predefined limit—similar to how Paragraph handles minting for its publications.
The goal? To offer a way to preserve rumours as quirky memories, trade them, or even integrate them into a prediction market in a future phase of the project.
With the profits generated from these NFT's we plan to buyback $rumour tokens and burn them to decrease overall supply.
Phase 04: Introducing the Rumour AI Agent
In Phase 04, we aim to explore and develop a Rumour AI Agent that interacts with freshly cast rumours. This agent will enhance each rumour, expanding its narrative and lore to make it even more engaging.
How will it work?
Once a rumour is cast from the client—or the previously mentioned frame—the AI agent picks it up and elaborates on it further. The goal is to amplify the fun, make the rumour more believable, or take it to bizarre and unexpected heights.
This feature is designed to add depth, creativity, and unpredictability to the RumourCast experience, making every rumour a unique story.
For this phase, we are actively exploring various options for open-source agents that could be adapted for our needs. Additionally, discussions with notable Farcaster agent creators are currently underway.
We’re excited to dive into each of the phases outlined above and are already envisioning what lies beyond. The ideas and feedback from our community have been inspiring, and we’re committed to listening to and exploring every suggestion we receive.
Here are two standout ideas we wanted to highlight today:
RumourNews
A revamped version of RumourCast that turns the craziest rumours into satirical articles—similar to the style of The Onion News.RumourPredictions
A prediction market centered around rumours: Will this rumour turn out to be true or false? This concept aligns closely with the minting mechanics planned for Phase 03, adding another layer of intrigue.
As we actively build on RumourCast, we anticipate more ideas and collaborations to emerge, pushing the project into exciting new directions.
Thank you for reading and believing in our project. Your support and feedback inspire us to create something truly unique—born from a meme on Clanker and built with passion.
Sincerely,
The RumourCast Team
