# Welcome

Welcome to the Diamond DAO newsletter. We have updates on Chainverse Portal, which launches in September, and our engagements with partners.

## Chainverse Portal

Chainverse Portal, which launches in late September, will be the leading resource for understanding the people, networks, and organizations that matter in Web3.

Chainverse Portal will initially focus on addressing two use cases for investors: due-diligence and market research.

For due diligence, users can enter search for an entity and then quickly visualize critical context about the entity, including its trust network.

Users can quickly assess the credibility of the entity and determine whether additional research is needed.

Users can also perform market research in Chainverse by searching for keywords related to their market, niche, theme, or sector of interest -- say that an entity I’m performing diligence on coordinates IRL NFT events space. 

First, the user searches the topic of “IRL events” within Chainverse.

Then, the user can learn about IRL event pioneers like Bright Moments, ETH Denver, and Metacartel to understand the landscape of IRL event ecosystem landscape and how the entity they’re researching fits into that ecosystem.

We are spending the next few weeks polishing up the interface, adding more data, and collecting feedback from community members.

Chainverse Portal will launch publicly on **September 19th**. 

## Chainverse Canvas

We are also wrapping up our Chainverse Canvas MVP. Canvas is a tool for domain experts to add context and relationships to the Chainverse Portal knowledge graph.

We are using Canvas internally to accelerate the process of adding off-chain context into our knowledge graph. We will also use Chainverse Canvas to publish ecosystem maps, community deep dives, and other analytics-driven content. 

Users can use Chainverse Canvas to memorialize and share their personal research into entities covered by the Chainverse knowledge graph.

Our first Canvas-powered research report, exploring the ecosystem of “Eternal Games” in Web3, will be published on **September 26th**.

## Welcome to Data Feed

Data Feed is back after a summer hiatus. This week’s update focuses on Chainverse Portal progress and developments with Diamond DAO’s partnerships.  

### Chainverse Portal

Chainverse Portal will be the leading data & analytics platform for understanding the networks driving value in Web3. 

With Chainverse, users will be able to enter a search, identify a community or person of interest, visualize the trust and affiliation networks of that person or community, and access context about how to engage further with that person or community.

Chainverse Portal will also feature research & analysis from Diamond DAO domain experts about the most innovative communities in Web3.

Chainverse Portal subscribers will receive $DMND token, which can be redeemed to commission research & data analytics services from the Diamond DAO community.

We envision a broad range of use cases for Chainverse Portal, ranging from lead generation for BD to market research for product designers and product marketers. 

However, our initial focus will be empowering investors and research analysts explore emerging niches, identify the most influential builders, conduct market research, and perform due diligence.

To this end, Chainverse Portal will launch with the most comprehensive graph of angel, venture, incubator, and DAO investment activity in Web3 and an in-depth analysis of the Variant Fund ecosystem.

**RADAR - The Futures Protocol**

Diamond DAO completed a pipeline to ingest “signals” of emerging trends shared by curators in the Radar discord into a Radar-owned knowledge graph.

**Protein - Developing a Framework for Good Growth**

Diamond DAO completed an ML-driven analysis of “Good Growth” definitions submitted by [Protein Community](https://protein.xyz) members.

### Community Gems

* Diamond DAO co-founder Jordan Olmstead was quoted in a [Forbes](https://www.forbes.com/sites/ericmack/2022/08/09/us-treasury-sanctioning-tornado-cash-unleashes-max-chaos-in-the-crypto-universe/) article about the implications of US sanctions against Tornado Cash. The article was written by Eric Mack, co-founder of Journo DAO, a Diamond DAO partner.

## Chainverse Portal

Diamond DAO is preparing to launch Chainverse Portal in August, with access to our research library and **Chainverse Explorer**. Read more about this announcement in our [July 7th update](https://paragraph.xyz/@dmnddao/open-source-chainverse,-partnerships,-and-ipfs-on-the-moon).

The Diamond DAO Talent Network is busy working on deep dive knowledge graphs of the blockchain gaming ecosystem and the impact of Variant fund in web3. These are both examples of emerging uses of technology and capital that are fast moving with many interconnected themes - perfect for collective, graph-based search and discovery.

## Trend Spotting with Radar

[Radar](https://twitter.com/radarxyz), a community owned and powered “futures engine” of cultural trends, signed a contract to implement a hosted Chainverse database to ingest signals from their Discord server into a collective knowledge graph. Then they’ll build custom dashboards and KPIs using [Chainverse OS](https://github.com/DiamondDAO/chainverse-os) and data models designed by Diamond DAO.

## Multicoin, Arweave Engagements

Last month we completed two paid engagements to map ecosystems using Chainverse and deliver analytical reports. Both focused on developing a deeper understanding of the Arweave ecosystem, both for Multicoin Capital (early Arweave investors) and for the Arweave organization itself.

## Application improvements

The Engineering team has been refactoring the [Chainverse UI](https://staging.chainverse.diamonds) and upgrading our infrastructure to improve performance. We’ve also integrated the first open source component of Chainverse OS  - Search. If you’re using our application you should notice much faster load times.

Diamond DAO is busy preparing for the August launch of Chainverse Portal.

Chainverse Portal Subscriber NFT  unlocks Diamond DAO's research library, research requests to Diamond DAO’s talent network, and access to **Chainverse Explorer**, the most powerful Web3 search engine. 

Chainverse Explorer is one of several components we are building to help Web3 communities collect, organize, explore, and ultimately make better decisions with their collective knowledge.

The Chainverse engineering team will be open-sourcing many of these components so communities have the flexibility to incorporate them within their own applications.

## Chainverse

This sprint the Chainverse engineering team will focus on shipping an MVP portal for Chainverse “subscribers” this week.

Chainverse Portal will be a token-gated area where subscribers can review Chainverse research & analysis and make research requests to the Chainverse talent network.

The engineering team will also be on-boarding a senior full-stack engineer who will initially focus on improving the Chainverse UI’s search functionality.

# May / June Update

## Summary

Diamond DAO on-boarded its first two customers to Chainverse in June.

In response to customer interest in data on Web3 ecosystem partnerships, the engineering team shipped  functionality to the Chainverse UI enabling analysts to quickly add data on different types of partnerships -- ranging from joint marketing initiatives to product integrations.

Our biggest priority for July is launching Chainverse Portal, a token-gated area for subscribers to access research & analysis on emerging Web3 communities. Subscribers will also use the portal to submit requests for research, analysis, and data product proofs of concept.

The Chainverse Portal will be "top of the funnel" for other UIs and data products built off of the Chainverse Knowledge Graph.

## Token Updates

We delivered our first allocation of [DMND token](https://etherscan.io/token/0x7ad50d8E0FD4c53648D71f66e4D7FcDf423D6e61) to Chainverse Genesis Cohort participants.

We will compensate past and existing Diamond DAO contributors with an allocation of DMND token in mid-July.

The DMND token will have utility in the Chainverse Portal; holders will be eligible to create and vote on requests for research, analysis, and proofs of concept.

## Partnerships and Community Engagement

Diamond DAO held a workshop with [Protein](https://www.protein.xyz/) a Web3 community focused on promoting "good growth" in distributed communities, to brainstorm how Protein members can use Chainverse to develop and promote good growth indicators.

Diamond DAO held a workshop with RADAR, which is building a protocol to identify emerging cultural trends, to brainstorm how [RADAR](https://mirror.xyz/0x149D46eC060e75AE188876AdB6b24024637003C7/2uT8eKm8a_-XLzbMIxKW76vH_21yzm6QcScJNGlIN_M) can use Chainverse to track and analyze member contributions.

Diamond DAO co-founder [Jordan Olmstead](https://twitter.com/amphib0ly) and Electric Capital engineer [Enrique Herreros](https://twitter.com/eherrerosj) [won a 2 ETH grant](https://prop.house/proposal/410) to conduct a "Know Your Community" analysis for Lil Nouns, a Nouns Ecosystem project. Diamond DAO plans on using the project as a proof of concept for a more expansive data & analytics project for the Nouns ecosystem.
