1. Finished the Multimedia Information Processing class, leaving a final paper to be written.

   I was supposed to learn something in this class. However, the teacher focuses more on traditional information processing which is not as popular as it used to be. The first time when absorbing the knowledge gives me the feeling that I learn something brilliant. But when digging into it, the knowledge is not available for my research area.

2. Finished the Modern Digital Signal Processing class, leaving a final assignment report to be done.

   This class is so boring for students and the teacher. For students, the content of this class is about the mathematical proving process. WE, STUDENTS, HATE MATH! As the content is irrelevant to most of our research areas, no one pays attention to what the teacher says. For the teacher, talking to a bunch of fools who don’t even raise their heads to give a glance at the PowerPoint is boring.

   In the latter classes, the teacher bends her back to hind her head behind the monitor on the teacher’s desk. As a consequence, I could only hear her voice but can’t see her face. Wonderful, it becomes impossible for me to make eye contact with the teacher, which is quite awkward. Also, I feel more comfortable to play my phone.

3. Made a report about what I recently did to my boss. I have told him several times that I have sent e-mails to the author whose paper mentions the dataset which my boss has an interest in asking whether the dataset is available but received no reply. But my boss seemed to doubt what I said. He kept asking me to find a way to get the dataset. I was speechless.

1. Finished the baseline paper [1]. Unfortunately, the codes of this paper are not available.

2. Finished the paper [2]. As it also uses the traditional method which is the optic flow method, I don’t pay much attention. I just browsed it and made some brief notes about its main process. Actually, I am only 80% aware of its detail.

Substantial but a little bit afraid.

Reading papers and making notes makes me feel I am handling the time. The reason why I feel a little bit afraid is that I don’t code for a long time. I am afraid my coding skill has gone.
