Welcome to a garden of explorations into better future states 🌻

Future State is a documentation of ideas and explorations of what a better future could look like. It is a state that, in theory, might exist.

I believe that the strongest opportunities for possibility lie at the intersection of science, emerging technology, and people. This is where invention, startups, innovation, creation occurs. This point is what I call the future state.

Specific topics I enjoy thinking about and will likely frequently cover are:

Science: neuroscience, biology, gut microbiome, knowledge sharing, translational research, FROs (focused research organizations), DeSci (decentralized science)
Emerging technology: blockchain, crypto, AI (artificial intelligence), AR/VR/XR (augmented, virtual, & experiential reality), the metaverse, digitization, digital transformation
People: community building, belonging, connection, organizational design, personality, psychology, experience, DAOs, network states, future of work, human centered design

*This is a non-exhaustive list. For example, nature will likely also be a frequent theme because, well, nature is incredible.

Future State = Science x Emerging Technology x People

What you can expect: Lots of "what if..." explorations of better future states stemming from experiences I've recently had, reflections on the past, or something new I learned mixed with internet findings (e.g. articles, models, apps, stories, etc), which I call snippets.

Throughout these thought experiments, ideas will be proposed and then may (will) be debunked as new information arises. They might range from speculative concepts without a solid foundation to ideas that are nearly universally accepted as truth. I am exploring a future that could be. It is a public documentation of my own understanding of creating a better future and how I might be able to play a role in that creation. In this fluid experiment, I don't necessarily claim to align with or be "right" in anything that is posted, I simply am exploring the possibility of if it were true. Additionally, any thoughts shared do not represent any organizations I am connected to or part of.

It will evolve. As I explore the Future State of this newsletter/blog, it will evolve. Sharing feedback, reflections, inspiration, or snippets you think I might find interesting help me in this journey.

My Why:

I believe systems thrive on efficient interconnectivity. Continuously documenting my thought processes on what a better future can look like will allow me to:

1. Sharpen my intellectual and critical thinking abilities through writing

2. Connect more effectively with other like-minded people by posting publicly

3. Grow efficiently by having a history of how my capacities have developed
