Writing

I've decided to start using this space as my personal writing gym. What do I mean with that? Writing good is really important. Writing good on a short notice and succinctly is a superpower. I've never been a great writer. I might have been ok (some references here), but any piece worth mentioning has taken me weeks and countless reviews. So I want to change that and write really good stuff on a whim.

That takes practice. Lots of it, and consistently. This means a new routine, and as with any routine creating some accountability is the key. And what better way to create that accountability than to make pseudo-public commitments! Putting my writings here where anyone can read, and I create some expectation for myself to publish writings on an almost daily basis creates that. Bonus points that part of my goal with wanting to get better at writing is being able to publish more opinions on the Web3 space publicly. So it's the perfect gym, for the goals I have in mind.

It helps that Paragraph helps makes post token-gated, which helps limit some of the publicity, so I don't inadvertently put a big filter on what I'm comfortable to write about. As mentioned in a prior post, psychological freedom is really important, and I don't want to limit that freedom in what I think is an important personal development track.

So if you happen to stumble on these please engage or give me feedback! Fred Wilson's avc.com is a great inspiration for this since afaik he started it many years ago as a daily scratchpad, which throughout the years became a great community through readers' engagement (also helps that he is an amazing VC and writer).

Lastly, as a Turkish saying shared at the beginning of theatrical skits goes: sürç-i lisan edersek affola (apologies in advance if I wrong anyone with my words).
