Welcome to the New Exponential TOM Newsletter
For a while, this newsletter has been focused on news, updates, and major movements in the crypto world. But as I’ve been refining my approach to investing, technology, and personal growth, I realized something:
I learn best when I document my journey in real-time.
So, I’m shifting the focus. This newsletter will now be a journal of exploration—where I share what I’m learning, testing, and thinking about as I navigate investing, emerging technologies, and personal development. My objective? To get smarter, better, and happier—and if you’re reading this, I hope you’ll join me in that journey.
This first entry is about something that’s been evolving in my own investing strategy: The Two Basket Approach to Crypto Investing.
How Writing About My Strategy Made Me a Better Investor
I recently made a major portfolio move—but this time, I did something different.
By documenting my investment approach, I’ve become more critical, methodical, and disciplined about my decisions. I realized that if I wanted to teach others about investing, I needed to simplify my strategy to make it repeatable—even for beginners. So, I reassessed everything and doubled down on my Two Basket Strategy for crypto investing.
This strategy is designed to help navigate the crypto market without going crazy or taking reckless risks. The idea is simple:
A Stable Asset Basket – Made up of assets that are resilient over time. My choice? Bitcoin (BTC) and JLP (a diversified token that includes BTC, ETH, SOL, and stablecoins with yield via Jupiter).
A Volatile Asset Basket – Assets with high upside potential but higher risk. My current picks? Solana (SOL) and SUI, two of the strongest smart contract platforms leading in user activity, fees, and developer adoption.
The key principle? Keep the stable basket larger than the volatile one. This ensures that I always have capital available during market downturns, rather than being fully exposed to riskier assets.
How I Just Applied This in Real Life
Solana ($SOL) recently surged over 23% in the last 24 hours, with a total growth from $125 to $177 over a few days, moving from $125 to $178 before stabilizing. In the past, I might have let it ride, hoping for even more gains. But now, I’m sticking to my own strategy.
I locked in my profits – Taking 50% gains on my $SOL position.
I rotated into my stable basket – Moving funds into JLP instead of staying 100% in volatile assets.
I set up a DCA plan – Rather than guessing when to sell, I’m using Jupiter’s DCA tool to gradually move my $SOL into JLP over 30 days.
This method eliminates emotion-based decisions and ensures that I’m always making calculated, long-term moves rather than gambling on short-term price swings.
Why This Matters
This isn’t just about making more money—it’s about creating a system that works over time.
Most crypto investors buy high, sell low, get rekt, and quit. I don’t want that to happen to anyone following my journey. That’s why I’m developing this system—so that I (and you) can invest without stress, avoid the biggest pitfalls, and consistently grow our portfolios in a way that’s sustainable.
I’ll be tracking this experiment and refining the strategy in real-time. Over the next 30 days, I’ll report on how the DCA strategy plays out—and if it proves to be the best way to manage risk while still capturing upside in a volatile market.
What’s Next?
🚀 Expanding the Two Basket Strategy into a Full Guide – I’m turning this into a full ebook to serve as a simple, beginner-friendly guide to risk-managed crypto investing.
🎤 Sharing This in Workshops – Eventually, I want to run live and in-person workshops where I teach this method to investors who want to build long-term, sustainable portfolios.
📝 More Raw, Honest Lessons – Every newsletter will be a mix of market lessons, personal reflections, and ideas I’m testing. The goal? To become a better investor, thinker, and entrepreneur—while sharing everything I learn along the way.
If you’re interested in learning from my wins and mistakes in real-time, hit reply and let me know what you think of this shift.
Until next time—stay smart, stay disciplined, and keep building. 🚀
