Over 1200 Projects Submitted for OnChain Summer Buildathon
The OnChain Summer Buildathon received an overwhelming response with over 1200 project submissions, closing at midnight last night. This global event invites builders to shape the next generation of the internet, offering a total of 200 ETH in prizes. Sponsored by major players like Stripe, Shopify, Farcaster, Zora, Fleek, thirdweb, Nouns, Aerodrome, and Synthetix, the Buildathon spans eight tracks, including gaming, payments, trading, creators, and community engagement. Participants have the chance to showcase their creativity, receive expert mentorship, and compete for significant rewards. Expert judges from Base, sponsors, and other ecosystem builders will review each track, making this a pivotal event for OnChain Summer. Winners announced on July 16th!
Latasha Drops a Track on Zora: "A TEN!"
Latasha, an innovative artist known for transcending genres, has released her latest track "A TEN!" on Zora. Partnering with Formless, Latasha also introduces her fans to a new model of revenue sharing through community participation. 200 co-ownership splits were available to fans, each representing a 0.5% share in the revenue generated from the X post featuring the video, allowing participants to earn in real-time by resharing. This showcases Latasha's commitment to leveraging blockchain technology for creative and financial empowerment, fostering a communal experience that merges art and entrepreneurship. Bountycaster Boosts OnChain Summer Buildathon with 200+ Project Submissions
The OnChain Summer Buildathon has concluded, and news just in confirms that over 200 project submissions and $200k in community bounties were posted on Bountycaster. Bountycaster, a platform enabling Farcaster users to post and discover bounties or services, played a crucial role. Farcaster accounts with a power badge or created before the network went permissionless can post bounties or services, and any user can have their bounty or service posted if it receives likes from two power badge users. HALP Revolutionizes Crypto Crowdfunding on Base
HALP, a pioneering a no-code, transparent platform for crypto crowdfunding launched today on BASE. HALP addresses the challenges faced by individuals and smaller non-profits in raising funds for immediate needs like medical bills and crisis funds. Despite significant crypto donations since 2018, the majority has gone to large U.S. charities, leaving smaller entities at a disadvantage. Take a Break and Touch Grass: Base’s Creative Call
Finally, after a month of intense building, it's time to rejuvenate by stepping outside and touching grass. Base invites creators to take a breather, get inspired by nature, and then share their onchain posts on platforms like Zora, Moshicam, and Drakula. From July 1 - 7, creators can post their nature-inspired content in the /base-creators group on Warpcast. These posts will be eligible to win a share of a 3 ETH prize pool via Rounds and be featured on Base's channels. This initiative emphasizes that creativity flourishes even when you step away from the screen, encouraging a harmonious balance between digital and real-world inspiration.
