Imagine Frodo Baggins trying to fulfill his mission without Gandalf and Sam. Gandalf’s guidance of wisdom and foresight along with Sam’s unwavering loyalty and emotional support were essential for Frodo to persevere the toughest of challenges. Yet at different points in life we lack the right person of competence to listen thoughtfully and provide guidance for navigating the path ahead.
I am building Guiide to help you find such a person.
Guiide is a new form of ↑higher education. A school of life, to develop a higher self. Learning is experienced through both 1-to-1 mentorship, with a guiide committed to your development, and collective discussion of a growth-minded community.
Inspired by institutions of the past which brought small groups of people together in meaningful ways. Such as the salons of 18th century France that provided a home for intellectual enlightenment and the relational learning experience of Jewish rabbis and their disciples.
An informal yet intellectually rigorous atmosphere for facilitating the art of conversation with an etiquette of mutual respect and the free exchange of ideas. A space for artists, creators, intellectuals, and founders to discuss ideas, culture, and their current pursuits. Where new ideas can be presented, critiqued, and refined to develop a clear strategy for execution. The mentorship value of a PhD program, without the hyper-specific academia, or a Y Combinator experience, without swapping equity for capital. A structure to access guidance from a network of the most wise, competent, and generous minds of today.
There is no curriculum nor class in this institution of higher education. Delivery of information is not the point. In our abundance of information, we are starved for knowledge and in need of a means to make sense of it all. Guiide provides access to high quality conversation as a path to clear thinking.
This is a digital based community with an intention to begin an IRL location for members to visit for a few weeks or months at a time for focused in-person engagement.
Some in this community have been given much and have much they would like to give. Others, brimming with vibrant curiosity, have much they want to learn. Ultimately we can be both. Simultaneously giving and receiving a wealth of value from each other as we engage.
