We've just returned from an exhilarating week in Dubai, taking part in two of the most significant events in the crypto calendar - Token2049 and the World Blockchain Summit. Between the 19th and 23rd of April, we immersed ourselves in a whirlwind of blockchain innovation, lively discussions, awesome events and after parties and the vibrant culture of Dubai.

The atmosphere at both events was electrifying. At Token2049, we were surrounded by passionate entrepreneurs and dedicated investors who envision a future powered by decentralization and digital assets. The World Blockchain Summit was no different; it radiated an unparalleled energy stemming from innovative ideas and progressive thinking.

We had the privilege of speaking with many remarkable projects. From advanced DeFi platforms to next-generation NFT marketplaces and AI development backed by real world assets, the future of blockchain technology was on full display. It was inspiring to witness the industry's collective brainpower focusing on creating solutions that will redefine our world. And then there was this.....

The Meme Coin Summit was particularly intriguing. In 2024, the narrative around meme coins has drastically shifted. Once derided as merely internet jokes, meme coins are now being seriously considered by VCs and institutional money as viable investment strategies. These digital assets, buoyed by their immense popularity and unique community-driven dynamics, are carving out a niche for themselves in the crypto asset landscape.

Dubai proved to be an excellent host city for these events. Its blend of traditional culture and futuristic vision provided a fitting backdrop for discussing and experiencing blockchain technology. The city's commitment to becoming a global blockchain hub was evident in the government's warm embrace of the events.

ArtsDao conference was one of our particular favourites this year, with BAYC's team showcasing DookieDash and a dev team from the UK rebuilding the game in 2 hours to highlight the disconnect with the effort narrative being 6 months of hard work on BAYCs part was a personal highlight. ArtsDao had some amazing NFT artists work on display, some true pioneers in the space. It was great to be amongst such talent, entertainment and joy for the movement. A bubbling community of builders and creatives and a meeting of minds. ArtsDao showcased their latest documentary and trip to South America to meet with other NFT artists across the globe. It showcased the sheer drive to connect in this space that transcends the language barrier and cultural divides commonly communicated through the media.

Day 2 of WBS was full of meetings and pitch sessions for Hangry Animals, so we were short on time to document the event in pictures. Having connected with some great projects such as Golfin who we're pairing real world golfing experiences with a virtual game to improve health and wellbeing and Hedgeblock who are building one heck of decentralised on chain multi sig and Multichain ecosystem. We're excited about some new collaborations we will highlight in the near future from the Hangry team.

We're now gearing and pivoting our efforts towards our game demo and main NFT genesis mint respectively.

Our trip to Dubai for Token2049 and the World Blockchain Summit was a great experience and got us in front of some very interesting people. It served as a reminder of how far we've come in the past 3 years, iterating, pivoting and finally settling on a game as our first real product to develop. The event and space gave a glimpse into a future that is closer than we think. Amidst the skyscrapers and desert sands of Dubai, we experienced a vibrant culture of innovation and resilience that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of web3 and blockchain. Watch this space Dubai!
