Embracing web3 and gaming - The HAMs opinion

Saying goodbye to an inspiration and back in the driving seat.

Welcome to Hangry Animals Magazine - THE HAMMIER Edition!

It's been a minute! We’ve been out of the loop dealing with IRL shenanigans which saw the passing of one of our very own pups!

Tess (Saphire) 16.11 yrs on this earth. Passeed 1st Oct 2024. The Hangriest of Doggos

RIP Tess, you legend! You almost made it to 17 but life was cut short too soon. You were awesome, taught us a lot about living in the moment, resilience, caring for others, responsibility, joy, and most of all unconditional love! I’m sure players will be seeing the Mighty Tess as a playable avatar in the near future, maybe with the ability to support the Dogs Trust through a digital collectible of her alter ego Saphire :)

In the news

In this short newsletter, as we get stuck back into things, we’re diving into the latest in Web3 gaming, the exciting titles hitting the scene, and how Hangry Animals is embracing incentivised gameplay with a social impact twist. As always, we’ll keep you updated on our charitable goals for 2025, focusing on supporting key causes that align with our mission of making the world a better place, one game at a time!

We’ve kept our ears and eyes peeled and come across three emerging titles that are destined to disrupt the scene, and we’re eager to see what the sentiment is like for full web3 immersion of partial web3 optional aspects to traditional gameplay. Not one studio has the total solution as yet, eherm cough… Game7 are close, but alas, we await with baited breath as to when they will unleash hell on us from Middle Earth or somewhere near… With this in mind, here are 3 titles of interest we’re following closely, and we recommend you check them out too!

Top 3 New Web3 Games with Positive Reviews

1. MetalCore

MetalCore is creating a buzz in the Web3 gaming world with its futuristic sci-fi universe, combining free-to-play mechanics with PvE and PvP battles. Players can build, craft, and command mechs and vehicles while using blockchain technology to own in-game assets as NFTs. Running on Immutable X’s zkEVM tech, MetalCore promises fast, secure transactions without the high costs often associated with blockchain games. The game’s strategy and action-packed gameplay, along with NFT integration, have players hooked. The beta feedback has been promising, so keep your eyes on this one!

Platform: PC

2. Guild of Guardians

This mobile RPG has captured the attention of gamers with its hero collection and dungeon exploration mechanics. What sets Guild of Guardians apart is its Web3 integration, allowing players to own their in-game characters and assets via NFTs. The game soft-launched in Canada, with a full global release expected in 2024. Early reviews praise its smooth gameplay and unique blockchain features, which are accessible even to those new to Web3. As Web3 games move towards mass appeal, Guild of Guardians could be leading the charge.

Platform: Mobile

3. Blocklords

Blocklords is a medieval strategy game where players can farm, fight, and rule their own territories. Its Web3 twist lies in giving players ownership of their characters and lands via blockchain, allowing for trade and in-game economies to thrive. The player-driven narratives and dynamic world-building make this game one to watch. Players love the blend of strategy and ownership that Web3 brings, and the community is growing quickly.

Platform: PC

Hangry Animals: Incentivised Gameplay with Social Impact

Web3 has opened the door to new ways of engaging players, especially with incentivised gameplay. At Hangry Animals, we are leading the charge with our Guardians of the Wild project, where players can not only level up their avatars but also contribute to real-world causes through their gaming experiences. With our innovative play-to-give model, players can earn in-game assets like skins, weapons, and character upgrades while also supporting social impact initiatives.

We believe this is the future of gaming: making a difference while having fun. By integrating Digital Collectibles and tokenised blockchain tech, we offer players real ownership of their in-game items, but with a twist. These assets can be linked to specific charitable missions, allowing players to engage in gaming for good causes campaigns. Whether supporting wildlife conservation, providing meals or sponsored shelter to the animals without a voice, or contributing to local charities, Hangry Animals is here to show that gaming and giving go hand-in-hand.

Charity Focus for 2025: Supporting UK Animal Welfare Charities

As we look towards 2025, Hangry Animals will be announcing our initial support for a number of UK-based animal charities with more to be added throughout the year for players to support. Our goal is to raise awareness and funds for organisations dedicated to protecting and caring for animals in need. Here are a few notable charities we’ve approached as part of our initiatives:

  1. RSPCA – One of the UK’s largest animal welfare charities, providing rescue, care, and rehabilitation for animals in distress.

  2. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home – A London-based organisation that rescues, cares for, and rehomes dogs and cats across the UK.

  3. Blue Cross – Providing support and care for animals by offering adoption services, veterinary care, and education.

  4. The Donkey Sanctuary – Caring for thousands of donkeys and mules around the world and ensuring they receive the love and care they deserve.

  5. Wood Green, The Animals Charity – Helping to care for and rehome unwanted pets, while also providing education on pet ownership and care.

Through our ecosystem, players will be able to contribute to charities such as these (and more) directly through in-game challenges, events, and special missions, blending gaming with giving in a way that’s both fun and impactful.

What’s Next for Hangry Animals?

We’re working tirelessly behind the scenes to bring new, innovative Web3 mechanics to our games, focusing on incentivised gameplay, social impact, and expanding our ecosystem. Stay tuned for exciting updates about Guardians of the Wild and other projects that will bridge the gap between gaming and charitable giving.

And don’t forget, we’re celebrating a massive milestone: Hangry Animals is now trademarked in the US! This achievement represents nearly two years of hard work and dedication to ensure our brand is protected as we continue to grow. You can read all about what this means for us and our future plans in our blog article.
