Lemon's 2024 NFL Season Power Rankings
My ranking are based on feelings and what I see, I'm not an expert. However, I love the game and watch a decent amount of football.
1. Chiefs (1-0): As much as it pains me to say it, there is no reason they should not be here. They look more lethal than last year.
2. 49ers (1-0) Jordan Mason understood the assignment. Need I say more? Reigning Super Bowl losers will remain here until they shouldn't.
3. Lions (1-0): Looked really promising against the Rams, adjusted where they needed. The two PI calls were the only real issues I saw.
4. Texans (1-0): Stroud looked electric. Team was firing on all cylinders. I may be placing them too high, we'll see.
5. Eagles (1-0): You mean the Saquon Barkley show? You could see the impact of losing Jason Kelce with the couple of snap issues, but overall good start to the season.
6. Ravens (0-1): Even with the loss, they make the top 10. They played well against the Chiefs who are on another level. Likely had a breakout game. I wouldn’t worry about them yet.
7. Cowboys (1-0): They played well against a solid defense. Dak and Ceedee still connecting when it’s needed most.
8. Bills (1-0): Started off slow and looked a little off, but Josh Allen did his thing.
9. Dolphins (1-0): Jags put up a fight and it took a bit for them to start cooking. Tyreek did Tyreek things.
10. Buccaneers (1-0): I think the Bucs take the division. I might be a little to high on them at this moment, but Baker may have found his groove.
11. Steelers (1-0): Steelers defense looks solid. Biggest hurdle ahead is going to be QB play – Fields did not win the starting job in my opinion.
12. Colts (0-1): Anthony Richardson looked good coming off injury. A division game lost at home is the reason for being ranked here.
13. Jets (0-1): Niners are a good team. Offense and defense didn't really look bad at all. Breece looked real good.
14. Rams (0-1): Looked healthy and fast. I would be ranking them higher if they showed any signs of stopping the Lions in OT. If not for the Lions defensive PIs, the game might not have been as close.
15. Cardinals (0-1): Hard to say if the Cardinals looked good or if the Bills looked bad. Week 2 will give more insight here.
16. Chargers (1-0): The Chargers defense looked good. Offense wasn't bad, maybe Harbaugh knows what he's doing.
17. Packers (0-1): Jordan Love getting injured hurt this ranking more than anything else. With the Lions as hot as they are, I don’t see Green Bay taking the division.
18. Bengals (0-1): Honestly, I’m being nice ranking them here. They did not look good against the Patriots. They play the Chiefs week 2 and I’m expecting a similar game.
19. Bears (1-0): The Bears got away with a win thanks to their defense. We’ll see if Caleb Williams got his rookie jitters out in time for week 2.
20. Saints (1-0): They marched right over the Panthers. I can’t place them any higher without seeing more.
21. Seahawks (1-0): Might be too low of a ranking, however, the Broncos are not a great team. I also can’t get passed the two safeties.
22. Vikings (1-0): Maybe I’m being too harsh on the Vikings, but the Giants are not good. Darnold didn’t look terrible and the defense stepped up. They may still move up even if they don’t beat the Niners week 2.
23. Falcons (0-1): Who knew Kyle Pitts played football? The Steelers defense kept them from any true momentum. Unsure about Cousins future.
24. Patriots (1-0): The fact they beat the Bengals means I have them too low. However, I think the defense won the game more than anything.
25. Browns (0-1): The only reason the Browns aren’t ranked lower is cause their defense still put up a fight against the Cowboys.
26. Jaguars (0-1): Hmm, seems defense is the theme of these lower ranked teams. The defense kept them in the game and the offense looked a little better than last year, I guess.
27. Commanders (0-1): I had more faith in the Commanders before the season started. I expect Jayden Daniels to have some great tape, but not a great season.
28. Titans (0-1): They look like they might be pulling it together, but too early to say much more.
29. Raiders (0-1): At least Minshew looks like he’s having fun. This team isn’t great.
30. Broncos (0-1): Bo Nix only threw for 138 yards and only had 231 years of total offense. I’m surprised they put up 20 pts. They get a bump up because of the two safeties.
32. Giants/Panthers (0-1): Eliminated from playoff contention. I have nothing to say. Do better. Neither one of you get 31.
