A Glossary of Most Commonly Used Crypto Slang.

To the Moon:

Refers to a significant increase in the price of a cryptocurrency, suggesting it will reach the moon.

Wen:

A misspelling of "when," commonly used in crypto communities to humorously express anticipation for a positive price movement.

Wen Lambo:

A playful question asked when someone expects the value of their crypto investment to increase significantly, enough to afford a Lamborghini car.

Sats (Satoshis):

The smallest unit of Bitcoin, equal to 0.00000001 BTC.

CT:

CT is short form for Crypto Twittter and refers to the community of crypto enthusiasts and influencers on Twitter (now “X”).

DEFI:

Short for decentralized finance, DeFi is an umbrella term for peer-to-peer financial services on public blockchains, primarily Ethereum.

Alpha:

Alpha (α) is a term used in crypto to describe an investment strategy's ability to beat the market.

Fren:

It’s a corrupted form of Friend used in CT and defi. Every person is a fren in Crypto. Frens provide you alpha, frens keep your back. According to Binance: "fren" is a term that refers to a community member who is enthusiastic and supportive of a particular cryptocurrency or project.

HODL:

A misspelling of "hold." It refers to the act of holding onto cryptocurrencies without selling, despite market fluctuations.

FUD:

Stands for "Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt." It describes negative information or rumors spread to create fear and uncertainty in the crypto market.

FOMO:

Stands for "Fear of Missing Out." It's the fear of missing out on potential gains in the crypto market, leading to impulsive buying.

WAGMI:

Stands for "We Are Gonna Make It." It's an expression of optimism about future gains in the crypto space.

Whales:

Individuals or entities holding a large amount of cryptocurrency, capable of influencing the market with their trades.

Rekt:

A misspelling of "wrecked." It means experiencing significant losses in the crypto market.

ATH:

Stands for "All-Time High." It refers to the highest price ever reached by a cryptocurrency.

Shill:

To aggressively promote or endorse a particular cryptocurrency to attract more buyers.

Wei:

The smallest unit of Ethereum, equal to 0.000000000000000001 ETH.

Ape in:

To make a quick and aggressive investment in a cryptocurrency without much research or consideration.
