Introduction
Hello and welcome to my very first Substack newsletter! My name is Jonathan Barbeau and I am a full-time generative artist from Quebec, Canada. I'm excited to be using this platform to centralize all of my writings, and to share more of my creative process with you.
For those of you who are new to my work, I specialize in creating generative art using code. This means that I write computer programs that generate unique pieces of art every time they are run. It's a fascinating process that allows me to create complex and intricate compositions that I would never be able to create by hand.
So, what’s the deal?
While I have been writing about my process on FX(hash), I decided that it was time to create an official newsletter to share my thoughts and ideas more directly with you. From now on, all of my articles will be released first on this newsletter, before being shared on other platforms.
I'm really excited to use this platform to provide value to my community. I plan on sharing tutorials and deep dives into my creative process, as well as tips and tricks for creating your own generative art. Whether you're a fellow artist, a programmer, or just someone who is interested in the creative process, I think you'll find something of value here.
