Mostly <5 years old companies. Mostly for asset and control reasons. Acqui-hiring af. Also 75%+ of transactions had non-compete clauses for founders and key employees. More common in larger transactions.
Considering the demographic of big tech, this all makes sense
Given the rise of unicorn tech companies in 2020-2021, interested to see how these trends shift. Been seeing Stripe go off on acquisitions recently - Plaid, Paypal, etc.
