GOLDEN EGG CLUB started as a way for me to reward my most loyal holders, who called themselves the "golden egg army." I created the art and airdropped the first 100 tokens with the mission to build my version of a country club, designed for the outliers and the others.
The mission quickly took off, and we decided to expand the collection to 222 tokens, began hosting dinner parties around the world, collaborated with names like Jean-Michel Basquiat, and gave away free art from artists like Terrell Jones.
Next month will mark the 2-year anniversary of GOLDEN EGG CLUB, and I believe it's time to give more ownership of the project back to the community. The project grew bigger than I ever expected, and the next step is to bring in more minds to work together toward its growth. With that said, I will still be a part of GOLDEN EGG CLUB in a meaningful way as one of the co-founding members. Welcome to the future of the country club:
1. Transition to a DAO
• Announcement: GOLDEN EGG CLUB is officially transitioning into a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO), maintaining our core mission inspired by the traditional country club ethos. This transformation will allow us to continue focusing on food and culture projects, aligning with our roots while embracing the future of blockchain.
• Primary Mission: As a DAO, our first major initiative will be to oversee and decide on food projects for SUPERMARKET. Even though SUPERMARKET operates as a traditional company, the governance by the GOLDEN EGG CLUB DAO will ensure that its onchain projects stay true to the principles of decentralization, community-driven development, and a strong emphasis on food and culture.
2. DAO Setup and Governance
• Timeline: Over the next three months, leading up to Monday, December 2nd, the focus will be on establishing the DAO as a legal entity, fully equipped to lead food and culture-focused initiatives.
• Co-Founder Appointments: A total of 7 co-founders will be appointed to guide the DAO, selected by Jeremy Fall with input from the community to ensure a broad representation of food, culture, management, legal and blockchain expertise.
• Treasury Setup: The DAO treasury will be established to fund future food and culture projects, managed with transparency and community involvement.
• Governance Framework: The governance structure will be crafted to support the DAO’s mission of promoting food and culture within the blockchain space. This includes clear protocols for how members can propose, vote on, and implement projects that align with our country club-inspired ethos.
3. Global Dinner Parties Resumption
• Event Series: Reconnecting with our culinary roots, GOLDEN EGG CLUB will resume its series of exclusive dinner parties around the world, starting with a high end GOLDEN EGG CLUB x BAYC dinner powered by SUPERMARKET at Apefest in Lisbon.
• Focus on Food and Culture: These dinner parties will not just be about networking; they will be cultural events celebrating food, creativity, and the spirit of community that defines the GOLDEN EGG CLUB. Each event will feature curated culinary experiences and discussions on the intersection of food, culture, and Web3.
4. Burn Event
• Event Date: On September 6th, a burn event will take place where members holding 5 and 4 tokens (holders of 5 take priority over the supply) along with an egg carton will be eligible to receive an 18K gold egg airdropped directly to their wallets.
• Supply Management: These airdropped eggs, sourced from the treasury, ensure that the overall supply remains consistent, maintaining the exclusivity and value of your GOLDEN EGG CLUB NFTs.
5. Introduction of “Stake and Eggs” Program
• Program Launch: Introducing the “Stake and Eggs” soft staking program, where members can earn $EAT tokens weekly by not listing their golden eggs. This initiative is directly tied to our food-focused mission, making $EAT more than just a token, but a symbol of our culinary inspiration.
• Staking Rewards: Soft-staked (non-listed) eggs will earn higher weekly allocations of $EAT compared to listed eggs, encouraging long-term involvement and alignment with our cultural mission.
6. Golden Egg Club Merchandise
• Partnership Announcement: We are excited to launch a line of exclusive GOLDEN EGG CLUB merchandise in partnership with a major company. This merchandise will reflect our unique blend of culinary art and culture, offering members tangible ways to express their affiliation with the club.
• Exclusive Access: Merchandise will be available exclusively to GOLDEN EGG CLUB members, further enhancing the sense of belonging to a global community that celebrates food and culture.
7. Art and Culture Initiatives
• Ordinals Airdrop: To reinforce our dedication to art and culture, all GOLDEN EGG CLUB members will receive a 14K golden egg ordinal as an airdrop. This aligns with our mission of merging digital art with culinary-inspired physical collectibles.
• ART ACADEMY Perks: Members of ART ACADEMY will be eligible to claim the first physical art airdrop on October 4th, with a second airdrop on October 11th. These initiatives celebrate the fusion of art and food, two pillars of the GOLDEN EGG CLUB.
