Professional Spotlight: Aimeric Anamenou, Driving Growth in Web3 Communities

Building a strong community is crucial for the growth and success of any project. Aimeric Anamenou, a skilled community manager and ambassador from Benin, understands this well. His passion for blockchain technology, combined with his expertise in social media strategy, has made him a valuable contributor to several Web3 projects, including Binance, BitGet, AVE.ai, and Yeeha Games.

Aimerc’s journey into community management started after university, when a friend introduced him to cryptocurrencies, sparking his curiosity about blockchain and digital marketing. Since then, he has helped various platforms build engaged communities, especially in Africa, where he has faced unique challenges, such as companies being hesitant to work with professionals from the region. Despite these hurdles, Aimeric’s determination and passion have led him to work with top projects, using platforms like LinkedIn, Medium, and Twitter to find ambassador programs and grow his professional reputation.

Q&A with Aimerc Anamenou

How did you first get involved in community management and the Web3 space?

Aimeric: My interest in digital marketing is what initially led me to community management. As I learned more about the tech world, blockchain and cryptocurrencies caught my attention. After completing several certifications, including one from Binance Africa, I became more involved in the Web3 space. It was exciting because blockchain is changing how we approach finance and technology, especially in Africa.

Reflecting on your journey in community management and digital marketing, what inspired you to pursue this path, and what has been the most rewarding experience so far!

Aimeric: At first, I wanted to put the time I spent on social networks to good use, monetize my skills and above all earn money on the Internet because I'd seen other young people around me doing it.

The aim was just to earn money, but after a while, working hard, contributing to the success of various projects and accumulating successes and rewards, I got the taste for it; I became addicted. I saw that I was made for it, and I'm sticking with it, no matter what difficulties come my way.

You’ve collaborated with various brands, including Binance,  Bitget and Ave.ai. Can you share a project that felt more like a passion project rather than work, and what you learned from it?

Aimeric: I've worked with some big-name projects, as you said, but my best experience was with Ave.ai.
It was my very first professional experience in Web3 and the one that gave me a taste for the field.
Thanks to it, I was able to deepen my knowledge of Community Management and also develop other interpersonal skills that today constitute my strength in our ecosystem.


In a fast-paced world of social media and community management, how do you stay motivated and maintain balance in your personal and professional life?
Aimeric: I admit that Community Management is a time-consuming activity and it's often complicated to balance your personal and professional life.
But here's how I do it :
> Setting clear boundaries between work and personal life helps ;
> Prioritizing self-care, continuous learning, and time management to avoid burnout ;
> Regularly celebrating small wins and staying organized ;
> Avoiding jumping at every opportunity.

What’s the most unexpected or fun lesson you’ve learned from managing online communities?
Aimeric: Despite everything, Community Management is a skill that helps you to better control your emotions.
Whatever your degree of irritation, when faced with an unfamiliar audience you're obliged to pull yourself together and calm down before reacting to a complaint or provocation.

Outside of work, how do you spend your downtime, and are there any hobbies that you feel contribute to your professional skills?
Aimeric: I am a Community Manager, but OTAKU in my spare time.
So I'm often playing video games or following anime.

If you could offer one piece of advice to someone just starting in community management, based on your own experiences, what would it be?
Aimeric: Community Management is a constantly evolving field. Things aren't stable, so you have to keep learning, keep learning, keep updating.
