In November 2022, I presented "The State of the Generative Art Market" at Bright Moments in Mexico City, covering market analysis, key terms and definitions, and the marketplaces, galleries, and communities’ landscape at the time.
Generative Art Landscape - Marketplaces, Galleries, Memberships - from November 2022.
This landscape overview proved beneficial in keeping track of options for artists and collectors. However, in just five months, new players have emerged across different categories, prompting me to update the list.
To come up with this list, I observed discussions among 300 Discord members, paid attention to the 8,000 readers' questions, and monitored artists' releases, hot collections, and marketplace volume for the weekly digests.
The list consists of a mix of marketplaces, galleries, and institutions within generative coded art and AI art — in no particular order.
Code Canvas
Website: https://codecanvas.art/
Specialties: generative long-form collections, marketplace, curated, Solana blockchain.
Code Canvas is the first generative marketplace on Solana. Their first two releases featured “Fract” by Leander Herzog and “Scenes from a Train Window” by Studio Yorktown. They also released the “CoCa Pass”, which grants exclusive benefits to mint in their marketplace.

Tonic
Website: https://tonic.xyz/
Specialties: generative long-form collections, digital + physical, curated, Ethereum blockchain.
Tonic mission is to bridge digital blue-chip art and the physical world. So far, they have released three curated collections, “Chromesthesia: Ascend” by Jaime Derringer, “Intimita” By Stefano Contiero, and “Strands of Solitude” by William Mapan.

About Tonic Art Prints
We believe the artwork we release is meant to be appreciated in the physical, not just the digital, world. That’s why any holder of a Tonic NFT is eligible to purchase one print of the work.
Tonic art prints are handcrafted at a high-end print studio based in New York City that uses only certified archival media and genuine pigment based inks. The studio produces truly beautiful physical renderings of digital artwork that we’re thrilled to be able to offer.
Expanded.Art
Website: https://www.expanded.art/
Specialties: marketplace, gallery, live exhibitions, multi-chain.
They offer historical fine art and NFTs, along with live exhibitions. Their last show featured Ira Greenberg’s “BEASTS” in Berlin, and their upcoming show is a group exhibition titled “Recollection AI and Memory”, from April 11 to May 13 in New York.
EXPANDED.ART turns Web3 inside out and expands the notion of a gallery and an online marketplace by being both.
We present a curated selection of art from both worlds: the traditional art world and the new online art world.

Fellowship auctioned a “Patron Pass”, which is an annual membership giving photography lovers exclusive access, influence, and rewards.
Le Random
Website: https://www.lerandom.art/
Specialties: art collection, generative art, and content.
Mission
We collect, contextualize and elevate the most significant artworks from iconic generative artists.
The team at Le Random has a definite purpose: to create the most remarkable and purposeful collection of generative art. They have expressed their commitment to prioritizing artists, a long-term perspective, and aren’t tied to any specific blockchain.

Emerging Properties
Website: https://emprops.ai/
Specialties: Prompt AI art, marketplace, curated, Tezos blockchain.
The first dedicated AI marketplace on Tezos capable of releasing AI long-form series. Their technology lets artists interact with public models via prompts and has the potential to scale, avoiding handpicking pieces before being minted. So far, they have curated five collections, including “The Muses” by Danielle King and “Oracles” by Ira Greenberg.
Besides their curatorial focus, what sets each of these 6 new players apart is their unique added value. Among their distinctive characteristics, we found technology differentiators, such as being on less explored blockchains like Solana (Code Canvas) or the minting technology (EmProps), tackling less explored mediums like photography (Fellowship), exploring real-world benefits like physical prints (Tonic) or exhibitions (Expanded.art), or going all in collecting and producing content (Le Random).
There might be issues in the space, but creativity, fresh ideas, and builders aren’t one of them. And that is exciting!
Until next time,
- Kaloh
