2. [Hot Collection] Themes and Variations by Vera Molnar (in collaboration with Martin Grasser) via Sotheby’s & Art x Code
Last week was highlighted by Themes and Variations by Vera Molnar (in collaboration with Martin Grasser) via Sotheby’s & Art x Code.
This collection is undoubtedly a crucial point in history, as it represents the first NFT collection minted by the 99-year-old computer art pioneer.
Interesting fact: The code is in onchain (using the Art Blocks Engine), but the 500 pieces were curated manually by Vera and Martin. Michael Bouhanna — Sotheby’s VP ad Head of Contemporary Art — called it “curated long generative.”
Themes and Variations #39 by Vera Molnar and Martin Grasser sold for 17.99 ETH.

Light assumes a profound presence within contemporary art, shaping Lieberman’s artistic practice. In this exhibition, the artist reflects on light as a creative medium, exploring the relationship between his work and the art of the past, and situating his new series within the wider discourse of media art.
