DAOPunk Research Update 4

Cohort 2 Update 0x04 4_03_23

update 04 04/03/2023

A little psychology lesson to start.

In operant conditioning, positive means you are adding something, and negative means you are taking something away. Reinforcement is designed to increase a behavior, and a punishment is designed to decrease a behavior. When designing incentives it is helpful to understand whether you are aiming to increase or decrease a behavior.

Here is a hot list of links, arising from the last two weeks of discussions in the DAO Thought Leaders Telegram Group where we are chatting about the topic of Rewards, Compensation, & Incentives.

A few great tips from Karma Pocket of PricelessDAO https://t.me/c/1674876513/301

“From our DAO experience, Paid work compensation is a mix of USDC (cap 30%) and DAO tokens.”

While the community and contributors are learning how to run a DAO, I (Karma Pocket) find two principles useful:

1. Avoid making fatal mistakes. Lowering the chance of a DAO being dead is more important than making it a successful one in the early stage.

2. Make more Reversible decisions. Meaning if outcomes of the decisions are wrong, the community or team can still redo or revisit decisions without much cost.

Don’t forget to mark your calendars if you can make it to the Twitter space this Thursday, April 6th, 10 AM PST  https://twitter.com/memebrains/status/1639749387894288385
