My lightning talk will be a speed run through the past and future of the Superchain, mostly focused on the technical roadmap, but with a bit the social stuff sprinkled in.
Roughly that'd look like:
1. The Past:
The plasma group, ok plasma's not quite right, and we can't get there as a non-profit
This begets optimism, a public benefit corp building ORUS
Optimism builds the OVM, and gets a chain running on it. This is crazy, it is completely unscaleable and no one is willing to jump through hoops to build on it.
Enter Bedrock and EVM equivalence.
Present and near future:
EIP 4844, blobs, cheap L2 yay!
Fault proofs and stage 1: coming soon
A bit further out:
The Superchain: connecting OP chains through interoperability.
Stage 2 roll up
The long term vision:
The OP Collective and Tech, enabling public goods funding of open source software. Exploring new approaches to governance.
