Mission Statement

Reaching one person at a time is enough.

Climate change, systemic racism, economic inequality, and other issues plague our culture.
Layer over all of these the trauma we have all endured at some level with COVID.
But the spotlight is on, finally. Maybe we can make collective, tangible progress now.

However, media controls and distorts our culture’s feeling about these and our response.
Corporate-owned mass media to duplicitous social media divide us to maintain power.
Our best ideas are diminished into binary choices, made subservient to simplistic narratives.

I want to help, using my experience and my artist’s eye for observation and synthesis.
Creativity is but one approach to teaching; it begins with empathy to listen and believe.
Its conclusion is a human, empathetic expression that might change someone’s perspective.

We don’t convince anyone of anything; people come to their own realizations in time.
But I hope to use the privilege I have to shine a light on what I've learned and unlearned.
To invite reflection, to demonstrate to someone a new way of thinking about an issue.

Any action helps, but focused action by each of us has more potential.
Listening, observing before solving, creating art for communication purposes.
Expressing it with clarity and empathy, while navigating the perils of demon platforms.

I don't have the answers (obviously), but I believe that there are two driving factors:

  1. It won't happen by individual effort; only a collective can achieve this

  2. Each person is more potent in the collective by employing their "superpower"

All my current work is guided by these principles: michaelboezi.com/now

Like you, I am more than just my job or a list of the positions I've held. I am what I contribute, and I've got a lot more work to do.
