How I (almost) created a new form of art using AI

It was so close

Estimated read time: 1 minute 32 seconds.

Hi Pals !

I wrote this last week:

Zima approaches. Every day I grow more tired.

Well it approached so fast, I had to delay the drop to October 31st 😂

Tough decision, but your support has been amazing

Today I show you how I (almost) created a new form of art, using AI 🖼

How it all started

April 2023, I just released "CBDC Airdrop",

an NFT that changes if you look away (switch tab or minimize).

I wanted to include more context inside the code,

so I made the code itself tell a story 👇

That was the start of Zima.

Why not make the code the art itself ?

GENIUS, No one else has done this, I'm sure! 🙂

The Disillusion

8 Billion people on earth, you bet someone did. 😂

Nerds at MIT, etc. have been writing poems with code for a while.

here are a few examples:

But I have something they didn't.

AI

What if I told an AI:

"You come from a land, where only Javascript is spoken, write a poem for me."

Now that's unique !

A New form of art ?

So together with Llama 3, Claude Sonnet, Mixtral and GPT-4.

I wrote 32 code poems.

Each telling a story using a different technique from the web.

Example of this collaboration for a Temporal Dead Zone poem (aka TDZ: like trying to call a phone number that doesn't exist yet) 👇

One of the many prompts I used to create the poems

Code poems don't belong on paper.

They belong in a computer.

NFTs bring code poems back to their rightful place.

The art is not the code, it's not the output, it's everything together.

A few iterations later, back and forth, collaborating, and TADAA !

Temporal Dead Zone is used here to highlight how love needs to be declared before getting an answer.
