NFT Matri #9

Hi, and welcome to issue 9 of NFT Matrix, where I review NFT Artists’ work. There is no presumption or judgement here, only exposure. The artist I am reviewing is Kai Morton from SF/DMV. Colorful, dark, and pop art/graphic novel influenced is how I would characterize their work. I look at a couple of the artist’s pieces from their various platforms/social media and provide my review. Hope you enjoy, I’m always open to feedback.

Piece: “Perfect Storm”

View on Foundation for the full effect! The colors and textures of this piece are a lot of fun. The combination of a storm with the hair is ingenious, and I love the lightning. I think the blindfold alludes to many things - being blind about what is happening in the world, or purposefully staying blind to something uncomfortable.

Piece: unsure

I like the mixture of playfulness and dangerousness. There is a pop art vibe to the style, and I love the cartoon “Pop”. I could see a graphic novel in this style.

Piece: “Spiritual Release”

Link: insta

This piece makes me thinking about spirituality and the human spirit. Anxiety, fear, and sadness can temporarily take over. There even seems to be an allusion to either suicide and enlightenment coinciding. There is more to this piece, and I will be thinking more about what it could mean.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this brief introduction to Kai Morton! Find their links here.

See you next week!
