Hi, and welcome to issue 28 of NFT Matrix, where I review NFT Artists’ work. There is no presumption or judgement here, only exposure. The artist I am reviewing is Andre Oshea. Delightfully crafted and impressive is how I would describe their work. I look at a couple of the artist’s pieces from their various platforms and provide my review. Hope you enjoy, I’m always open to feedback.
Piece: “The Holder”
This piece animated and refers to those who hold or “HODL” onto any form of cryptocurrency. Also called bagholding as there are often crazy ups and downs in price, yet true believers hold on, for various reasons, whether ideological, silly, or they are bad at trading. I think the image is incredibly accurate regarding the result of “bag holding”. Some people have indeed changed their life by hodling, but most get rekt because they do not sell. The animation itself is engaging and the color layout is fantastic. I think this piece could be best summed up as a warning, or an inside joke.
Piece: “When God Said Let There be Light”
Another fantastic animated piece. One must watch from the beginning to understand - but it starts off one way and results in a bit of a meditation on life and creation. Very cool.
Piece: “ITS NOT WHAT YOU THINK”
This animated piece starts off unassuming , and appears to take inspiration from lofi anime scenery I’ve seen floating around crypto/nft twitter. I like the neon glow and the surreal atmosphere. The piece finishes off with some nice references to VR and begs the question - what is reality? Or perhaps what will be reality in the next 20 years as well. Maybe life will indeed be overlaid with digital layers in some cities/countries/cultures which will make it hard to tell.
Well, I hope you enjoyed this brief introduction to the artist! Find their links here.
