Hi, and welcome to the newest issue of NFT Matrix, where I present NFT Artists’ work. There is no presumption or judgement here, only exposure. The artist I am presenting is 31st Century Survivors. Dystopian and 80’s sci-fi-nostalgic is how I would describe their work. I look at a couple of the artist’s pieces from their various platforms and provide my feelings and thoughts. Hope you enjoy, I’m always open to feedback.

This artist’s work is focused around a dystopian future with high class disparity, earth-based and space-based factions, body modifications, cults, merging of organic/in-organic, and possibly interstellar gene-splicing. The work will be a part of a game of some sort, but I like their art style. It is generative-ai based, but uses styles reminiscent of 80’s sci-fi, videogames, and sci-fi book art. This particular work reminds me of the aliens franchise, and the cut scenes of late 80s/early 90s video games. There are intriguing details of alien/who knows anatomy (not a lot out there). It could also be the space-based society has evolved to be another species altogether. The piece makes me curios about the world building.
Piece: “0xLORD” Link
This piece is animated, looks like 80s sci-fi book/poster art, and includes glitch style distortion. The description alludes to a cult dedicated to the Lord Death. Evidently earth is ruled by an oligarchy/crime syndicate fusion which uses the cult in some capacity. Makes me think about human efforts to accumulate power; you could probably use the cult lens to analyze how a powerful organization can use cultists as tools to accumulate or maintain power.
Piece: “0xTURBOSTIM” Link
Not entirely sure of the context, but this looks like a nintendo game cartridge. I think it’s an item you can use in the game which is some sort of hard drug used by the lower class on earth. Interesting to think how drugs influence large numbers of people and the incentives and power structures around them.
Well, I hope you enjoyed this brief introduction to the artist! Find their links here.
