NFT Matrix #7

Hi, and welcome to issue 7 of NFT Matrix, where I review NFT Artists’ work. There is no presumption or judgement here, only exposure. The artist I am reviewing is the Surreal Serpentine from the UK. Futuristic and cinematic is how I would characterize their work. I look at a couple of the artist’s pieces from their various platforms/social media and provide my review. Hope you enjoy, I’m always open to feedback.

Piece: “Ascension”

This video is surreal and psychedelic. The music visuals remind me of when the old Star Trek movies got super weird, in the best way. I think this piece could be forward looking - will we be exploring space and learning new things about our universe at a greater pace in the next 100 years? What will we learn about ourselves and our place?

Piece: “3030”

If this artist doesn’t make an entire movie with this visual style, I think society is missing out. There is something similar to BladeRunner about the future it conjures - major urban areas with sentient machines walking around. Maybe human beings will merge with the machines over time to a point where humans and machines are indistinguishable. Of course in the future, there are still loud, annoying ads.

Piece: “A Dash O’ Danger”

This piece looks like another scene straight out of a futuristic film. Endless cities, perhaps an encounter with a holographic being or a ghost of a memory past? Perhaps this is the great eye of Sauron in a modern techno-tyranny. I’m not sure, but the idea of how foreign the future could be is one worth pondering.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this brief introduction to Surreal Serpentine! Find their links here.
