Last week the homie mightymoose.eth tagged me in a rare tweet (or is it xeet now?).
They stumbled across an old episode of the now defunct Wizard of Dapps podcast that the legend Pet3rpan used to host that I appeared on 30 some-odd crypto years ago in 2020 that I totally forgot I had even recorded.
That got me thinking about the other shows - podcasts, interviews, and the like - that I’ve appeared on over the years. I’m usually quite selective about who I jump on the mic with to record things that aren’t MARS (aka The Matthew & Rizzle Show I’ve co-hosted for 4 years with my dude Rizzle interviewing literally all the legends in NFT land and cryptoart) or The WIP Meetup related, so there are only a handful of podcasts and interviews, but the list is kinda dank ngl.
Since I literally created a chronological list of links and titles of past recordings in my ad hoc archeological crypto dig, I figured it couldn’t hurt to share publicly.
If nothing else, I‘ll be able to treat this as a living document that I’ll update when/if I guest appear on any other shows heading forward. Hopefully, though, a few other folks come across this and give some of these episodes a listen; one can never have enough crypto history in their life, after all.
Wizard of Dapps: Episode 30 on the 'Marble Cards Controversy' (23 Jan 2020)
A cool, spontaneous conversation with Pet3rpan that was recorded just after a twitter-based kerfuffle exploded around right-click-saving NFTs involving the project Marble Cards + Trevor Jones, Hackatao and Blue Pastel, and the collector Wang Xiang that also (may have) played a role in the birth of the Trash Art Movement
Behind the Art with Josie #13 (4 June 2020)
A cool conversation with the legendary crypto artist Josie back when I was at Cent. Fun fact: every early guest on Behind the Art with Josie was airdropped a CyberBroker when it was released to the public
Wizard of Dapps: Episode 39 on The WIP Meetup (11 Aug 2020)
A conversation with Pet3rpan mainly focusing on the early days of the weekly, virtual, metaverse meetup I created together with Rizzle and J1mmy.eth called The WIP Meetup
Yield TV Ep 31 hosted by Defi Dad - Special Interview with Matthew from Cent (20 December 2020)
A fun conversation with Defi Dad talking about all-things metaverse, NFT and crypto social-related
The TokenSmart Podcast (Co-host March 2020 ~ Oct 2020)
NFT Radio (Co-host, April 2021 ~ Jan 2022)*
The University of Chicago Hong Kong Campus Presents: The Brave New World of Art and Market Dynamics (10 May 2021)
A fun chat about the NFT Art Market that was just starting to explode onto the world stage I recorded shortly after joining Nifty Gateway together with Noah Davis, then Associate Vice President of Post-War and Contemporary Art Department Specialist and Head of Digital Sales at Christie’s that was moderated by Professor Randy Kroszner, former Governor of the Federal Reserve System (2006-2009) and Deputy Dean for Executive Programs and Norman R. Bobins Professor of Economics at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business
Digitally Rare: The Matthew and Rizzle Show (24 May 2021)
Rizzle and I jumped on the podcast co-hosted by Jonathan Mann aka songadaymann and Matt Condon talking about Old Cent days, our podcast, The WIP Meetup, and a bunch of other NFT-focused things
Origin Stories Livestream with RD, Parrott and Niftytime (31 July 2021)
I’ve been a longtime fan of Roger and his passion for supporting artists to help them reflect their maximum artistic intent, so when he invited me on to his livestream to chat together with Parrott I was stoked. We talked about the old Cent days, Nifty Gateway, and the NFT bull we found ourselves firmly in the middle of when we recorded this
Fakewhale Live | Matthew Fakewhale in conversation w/ Jesse Draxler (5 Nov 2022)
An enlightened conversation that centers around a lot of the history of cryptoart circa 2018~2020 in addition to practical lessons concerning the commercial releases of digital art
*These recordings appear to have unfortunately all been deleted. If, however, by some amazing luck someone who reads this has copies of past recordings or knows where there can be listened to plz hit me up on Twitter at @niftytime
