Dragon Tail

Many of you, my dear readers, will be familiar with common lizards and their propensity to drop their tails. This familiar scene typically involves a frightened lizard scurrying away under a bush or up a tree while the cat, dog, or other common lizard predator is distracted by the squirming wriggling appendage the lizard has left behind.

However, a little known fact you may not be aware of, my dear readers, is that dragons, yes dragons, also share this peculiar reptilian characteristic. And while it may amuse you to imagine a scaly fire breathing winged monstrosity of legend scurrying under a bush in fright while it leaves its squirming wriggling tail behind, it does leave this particular author with an unsettling thought…
