As stated in the previous issue, the Nouns Foundation said it is exploring a new legal structure for the DAO - a DUNA (Decentralized Unincorporated Nonprofit Association) and the community seems to be torn here with some praising the proposed transition and others voicing negative opinions (mostly focused on KYC). You can (try to) follow the discourse in the /nouns-duna channel on Warpcast or listen to a recording of the recent Nouncil call with 4156 and wag (just fyi, it's pretty long, around 2 hours).

discourse around DUNA seems to be focused around the downsides (added KYC requirement to grantees) imo DUNA's massive upsides are: - reducing tax risk - providing limited legal liability to members while still allowing: - members to remain anonymous (privacy) - explicit voting rights to members if there are other avenues to achieve the above without any compromises then that would be wonderful, but as far as i know at the moment DUNA is unique in offering the above properties with limited compromises (paying taxes in the US, KYC req for grantees). more thoughts continued 👇

Hey Nouns, Recently, I’ve taken an interest in following this channel and commenting on various posts due to my work with legal entity solutions at @midao. Since then, @thethriller and I have spoken to a few Nouns members about our offering, and they recommended we post here for total clarity and to potentially provide some insights. Before I begin, I want to be fully transparent and upfront with everyone as a sort of “disclaimer.” I’m biased—strongly so. I believe the Marshall Islands DAO LLC is the best entity to incorporate a DAO, which is why I work at MIDAO. Furthermore, I’m not a member of the Nouns, nor is anyone on our team. We may not have all the details or context compared to DAO members, but based on the discussions I’ve seen in this channel, I’d like to provide additional information about MIDAO.

Very reasonable reasons to fork: ⌐◨ Not convinced DUNA as described, and at expected cost, provides reasonable ROI to Nouns ⌐◨-◨ Not convinced KYC requirement on grantees won't also be required of Nouns at a later date ⌐◨-◨-◨ Not convinced a single proposal cycle is a reasonable amount of time for Nouners, guilds, sub DAOs and delegates to seek their own legal advice, let alone make a well informed voting decision (especially without said legal advice being funded collectively by Nouners as foundation's is and was) What are your /nouns-duna concerns?

The team behind the Nouns documentary titled Shark, Pickle, Cone finally released the movie to the public (it was available behind a mint/paywall until now).

Nouns Esports
Even though the Dota2 received multiple offers from other organisations, they would like to continue representing Nouns. This would require another significantly sized proposal and Nouns Esports team is looking for partnership opportunities that would help with the costs.
