To Reach Equilibrium.

To calm the storm | To settle the unrest | To turn down the noise | So understanding of the self can be met.

To Reach Equilibrium | A sketch by Melanie Jane

Caught in the center

Arms stretched out wide

Striving for equilibrium

Striving to survive.

One moment, comfort

No tension, ease

The next, a rift

A pull from the string.

To the left, balance

No motion, no stress

To the right, movement

Unstoppable, unrest.

A being in the middle

Trying to balance the two things

A being in the middle

Trying to be; while managing the nature of the strings.

Hush, hush over there

Calm down, find rest

Your chaos is impacting

The system to the left.

Hold steady, left hand

Do not disrupt that calm string

Hold steady, no tension

That ease is the desire, the need.

Caught in the center

A being, that is

Caught in the center

Striving for equilibrium, for peace to be met.

A being we are

In the world that surrounds

As a being, we navigate

Life as we move about.

To hold to our system

Our needs, desires

Amongst a world full of expectations and shoulds that transpire

Can feel like being a player

In a game of tug-of-war

Where your being is at the center

And you are desperately trying to calm the storm.

To reach equilibrium

To the left and to the right

To reach equilibrium

So that the self can take flight.

To calm the storm

To settle the unrest

To turn down the noise

So understanding of the self can be met.
