Little introduction on who I am, and what I intend to write.

Hello and welcome, everyone.

My name is David Passion (aka. passiondao), and I am delighted to share a glimpse into my journey and what I hope to bring to this blog.

My Journey So Far

My professional life began in earnest in 2018 when I founded Qrate. We introduced Ziggam to Korea, the first HR platform that provided video interviews and a comprehensive remote recruitment process. Collaborating with over 1,300 companies and serving more than 30,000 users, we successfully validated our product-market fit. However, we collectively decided to liquidate the company after acknowledging the lack of profit-market fit, a decision unanimously supported by our shareholders.

I became familiar with blockchain in 2020 through Ziggam's client whom were the major crypto exchange in South Korea. Starting with a personal interest in investing, I delved deeper into studying the technology and its value. I realized that blockchain is a groundbreaking development in the 'world digital order,' enabling people to create and execute contracts through coding, known as smart contracts. This innovation opened up a new paradigm in the way users interacted with the internet.

With passion and curiosity to be actively involved in the industry, in 2021, I took on the role of Organizer and Co-founder of the first DAO forum in South Korea. That same year, I joined a Fintech/Payment public company as the General Manager of the Blockchain Platform Office. In this position, I directed initiatives such as transitioning the blockchain to the public mainnet. Our project faced significant regulatory challenges as we pioneered the connection of blockchain to daily life through gateway services. Recognizing the low feasibility of regulatory changes, I made the decision to return to Tokyo to complete my university education while also conducting research on the rising Web3.0 movement in Japan.

From now on, I aim to share my research and findings through this blog!

Here is some basic information and the direction I plan to take with the blog:

Education

My academic journey started in Beijing, where I spent four enriching years during my elementary and middle school. Later, I graduated high school from Korea, culminating in pursuing my Bachelor's in Global Political Economy at Waseda University. As a Korean citizen living in Tokyo, my experiences across different cities have positioned me as an APAC connector.

Ambitions

My sights are set on propelling the mass adoption of Web3.0 values. This includes advocating for data sovereignty, empowering data creators with economic incentives, and diversifying the digital economy through the assetization of contents, information, and profiles. It's not just about bringing utility to service providers, but also about creating utilities beyond seigniorage and financial benefits for the end users. It's about championing a paradigm shift in the digital world.

Interests

My interests lie at the intersection of Blockchain innovation, Global Political Economy, Entrepreneurship, and Transnational culture. I am keen on sharing my insights on these topics in English,Japanese and Korean through this platform.

Content Direction & NFT Membership

I aim to publish content at least once every two weeks, with each piece available in English, Korean, and Japanese. The focus will be on delivering insightful and engaging content based on my interests. While everything is currently free, I am contemplating using NFTs for content direction and publishing authority in the future.

Thank you for joining me on this journey. I am excited about the insightful conversations and transformative ideas that lie ahead of us.
