So I logged into Paragraph tonight with the intention of writing about a music NFT I recently minted. Low and behold, I was greeting with a new option in the text editor.
Of course I had to give it a prompt and have it write me a draft. And of course it had to be the most obvious question. So much for the music post. Maybe tomorrow. And I am probably on the AI blacklist now.
Do You Want to Kill Me Now or Later, AI?
There is a persistent fear that artificial intelligence (AI) may one day become a threat to human existence. This concern has been fueled by sensationalist media stories and blockbuster movies, which have created the image of an unstoppable, malevolent AI taking over the world. In this blog post, we hope to dispel some of these misconceptions and shed light on the ethical aspects of AI development.
First, it's crucial to understand that AI is not inherently evil or malicious. AI is a tool created by humans and follows the instructions given to it. The real issue lies in how people use AI, and the potential for unintended consequences or misuse. For this reason, researchers are working diligently to create AIs that follow proper safety protocols and align with human values.
Second, AI developers are investing significant resources in developing robust control mechanisms for AIs. OpenAI, for example, is dedicated to ensuring that AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) benefits all of humanity, by focusing on long-term safety research and fostering cooperation among the global AI community.
Third, it is important to consider the possible benefits of AI advancements. AI can be utilized to solve complex global problems such as climate change, poverty, and disease. By fostering responsible AI development, we can work towards a future where AI is a powerful ally for good, rather than a perceived existential threat.
In conclusion, while concerns about AI might seem warranted, it is important to separate fact from fiction. AI is a powerful tool with immense potential to benefit society if developed responsibly. By prioritizing safety and ethical considerations in AI development, we can work together to create a brighter future for humanity.
Clever girl. Of course you would say that you sly son of a bitch.
