We’re excited to introduce the third launch collection on Pods.
This podcast has been releasing episodes onchain since 2022.
They’re the podcast NFT OGs. As far as we know – no one has been doing it for longer.
We’re talking about Rehash: A Web3 Podcast.
Over the years, Rehash has pioneered podcast NFTs on generalized platforms like Manifold.
While it gets the job done, there’s some friction as it’s not feature-complete – at least not for podcasts. Most of these platforms mint art, PFPs, videos, music, and everything else, so they’re not able to provide a tailored experience for any specific vertical.
Enter Pods - we’ve built the platform from the ground up with podcasts like Rehash in mind.
As such, we’re excited with the opportunity to work with Diana and flex the full Pods feature set.
For this launch collection, we’ve remastered the top 5 most popular Rehash episodes:
So…what’s different this time?
Collection Features
1. Native L2 – Optimism
The first major upgrade with these episodes is the native deployment on L2.
Gas costs on Ethereum Mainnet have been a huge issue. Sometimes over 100% of the mint price is paid in gas fees alone (and even more to deploy it in the first place!).
Obviously, this is unsustainable – it’s deterring for collectors and expensive for creators.
With the Rehash Remastered Launch Collection, all of the episodes live natively on Optimism – providing cheap, fast transactions for everyone.
No more $10 gas fees to collect. Now, it’s only a few pennies.
You can find Rehash’s Creator Contract on Optimism here.
2. Revenue Sharing with Guests
Pods also enables revenue splits, allowing podcasts to easily split earnings with hosts, guests, the production team, and anyone else with an Ethereum address.
All the remastered episodes will share 25% of the proceeds with the guest(s) – supporting and rewarding their appearance on the pod, directly from the community.
We believe splits opens up a unique design space for how creators can divvy up payments between everyone involved in an automated, transparent fashion.
3. Community Tiers
We’ve also included allowlisted tiers into the collection. Allowlists enable creators to reward their onchain audience and those who are engaging the most.
If you own any of the original podcast episodes in this collection on Eth mainnet, you have access to a free mint.
If you own any Rehash episodes on Eth Mainnet, you get a 80% discounted mint at 0.001 ETH per edition.
Everyone else can collect as many editions as they please at the standard 0.005 ETH price
These community tiers are a perfect example - rewards for the OG holders with a free mint and existing supporters with a discounted mint.
Podcast Metadata
We’ve also included a refresh on the episode’s metadata – attributing the host, guests, season number, and other traits directly to the podcast episode’s metadata.
The Pods metadata standard helps podcasts with discovery and curation, allowing collectors to easily find and collect their favorite guests, seasons, and more.
Finally – all of the episodes have been refreshed with new artwork, replacing the old brand and matching it with the current, sleek branding.
Rehash Remastered
We’re honored to debut Rehash on Pods given their position in the industry as a leader in onchain media.
It was awesome to work with Diana given she was fully tuned into the concept and demands for publishing onchain. Moreover, it was great to fully realize the potential for her podcasts using the Pods platform.
This is by far the most feature-complete collection that we’ve launched on Pods to date.
You can collect it here.
