World of Zeemo Phasevos | Dev Log 8

Is there a bigger connection between my video game series? I won't tell.

One of the earliest creative endeavors I can remember for me, was the vast saga I created called "The World of Zeemo". Each chapter having profound impacts on the larger timeline as a whole.

While it is more of a fantasy series, they do eventually make it towards modern day. I wondered if perhaps the Phasevos games could take place in the latter part of the timeline.

Giving more connective tissues between games.

Granted prior to the first Phasevo game, there wouldn't be a whole lot of phasevos in the world. Perhaps any monsters or bosses would be phasevos that made it to the world way back then?

Enough theorizing for now, let's talk about what is going on with the game.

I find that I am so busy with my content, that I haven't made time for the game. That is how it has been for months. However it isn't completely forgotten.

In fact I still generate creatures from time to time, and when exploring new AI tools I try to make something for the game.

I'm debating whether or not I want to do a fully 2D style like Pkmn Ranger, or do something 2.5D like Octopath Traveler, Black and White, or something akin to that.

That decision will change most of the work from a lot, to a ton of more of work.

The real point to make here is that I am thinking multi-dimensionally about this game. It isn't just a pop out one and stop. cough stardew valley. lol

I have experience with 2D characters, and I can learn the world design swiftly I think. It is just the coding that is holding me back, even if just mentally. I want to get myself into it again, but it then comes down to is it 2D or 2.5D? Is it going to be big or open world eventually? I thought about an alt mode like pkmn crystal clear where you could challenge any Arc in any order, but that would be tough to implement.

It would be wise to just get it out there.
I have the locations planned, the creatures, a decent amount of the story, the integration with quests, etc.

I numbered everything so that it would be easy to track.

Moving to Obisidian really wasn't that helpful as I hoped.

Mainly due to the limitations on the tool, and Notion at least had a working system to organize things. Sure it was crappy when it came to locations, but everything else worked. I sort of cannibalized the system though when moving it. I also have added things now to the new version. So I can't just go back really. I want to move to Capacities in general for all of my needs, but it seems like that may not be helpful. I am thinking that if I isolate my use case just to phasevos then it may be even better than any other tool out there. With how things are so evenly connected, object oriented note taking, and that way each location could contain people and quests seamlessly.

Maybe that'll be my next project, as I am looking more into Anytype for my overall system. Perhaps I can use capacities for Phasevos. Eventually phasing out Notion outright.
