Winner reveal and a sneak-peak tease for good measure

Pop quiz: can you name this distance category?

Let's kick this newsletter off with a bit of fun! Which part of RBC GranFondo Whistler is happening in the photo below?

Hang on - don't riders normally cycle the other way down this stretch? Photo: Filip Funk

For all those that said the 55km Medio, 10 points to you!

Beginning in Whistler at a relaxed start time of 9.15am, Medio riders uniquely head outbound along the famous Blackcomb Way finishline chute before coasting south on the Sea to Sky, taking a short detour up Callaghan, then turning back to ride alongside the riders who departed from Stanley Park earlier in the day to take the chequered flag as one.

Perfect for families and those newer to cycling, it's a special experience with all of the celebration and inclusivity you'd expect from North America's best voted Gran Fondo.

With our 2024 theme of 'Aurora', this year's apparel and merch will truly take you from sea to sky.

Revealed early March!

Congratulations to you, Scott Fulton! Scott is looking forwards to racing in the St. Regis Cup this year and giving it his all along the famed coastal mountain course.

From 4 types of terrain to challenge all your skills to a camp-style atmosphere where everyone treats each other like solid friends (and a new "Further" 3rd distance option just released), we are super excited for XFondo Whistler on June 15th, 2024. Make sure you and your gravel bike are there!

Non-standard bikes get separated timing

Back to the Gran Fondo now, and news that aims to improve the experience for all riders!

The Sea to Sky is for everyone. Photo: Justin Filippone

If you're someone who's looking to take part on a non-standard bike such as a recumbent, tandem or ebike, we've now separated out timing for these bikes so that you still get a time but don't influence the results of those on regular road bikes. Non standard bikes remain ineligible for prizing, including age groups.

Our mission has always been to increase access to cycling for as many people as possible, while keeping competition fair and maintaining a sense of personal pride. To sign up to ride using a non-standard bike, simply select the non-standard distance option on the registration page.
