Enhancing Digital Experiences

Enhancing Digital Experiences

User experience is important.

In the diverse realm of digital interactions, the type of realm I want to live in is where user experiences not only serve their practical purpose but also create joy, excitement, ease, and interconnectedness.

When we talk about user experience and elevating it, making it more exciting, evoke more connectedness and personalization, I want us to think about Spotify Wrapped. It's a testament to how personal data can breathe life into user experience.

It’s a reflection of us, a personalized journey through music that encapsulates individuality. You pay for this platform month after month, and you have a small window to see into all the data you are building for their empire. It is giving some of it back to you in a digestible, fun form, allowing you to see yourself in the ecosystem of other listeners, relive your memories and experiences in the past year through music.

In my perfect world, apps would talk to each other. Even if my friend uses Apple Music and I use Spotify, we could still share playlists and get shared concert recommendations.

Imagine if the apps knew we both liked Frank Ocean and his concert was near my friend's birthday in a city where we both have plenty of Google Maps locations saved. It could recommend us accommodation, flights, and schedules to make the trip as smooth and focused on our "real-life", shared experience as much as possible.

With better data structures and app interconnectedness, all that data, cross-platform, cross-applications, making our journeys across physical locations and digital worlds more useful for us so that we can have better connections and better experiences online and offline. We could make new friends and care for each other and ourselves so much more.

My ideal world includes a lot of automated features, platforms talking to each other, sharing data in a very benevolent way for better experiences, because ultimately that will lead to more customer loyalty and sales for them as well. It's a win-win-win type of situation.

So what I want us to do, is to craft more features around available data in our applications in a way that’s fun, exciting and pleasurable. I want us to be happy about using platforms, not just for the sake of their utility and the SaaS features that we’re paying for. I want us to get the most out of being online.Let’s build experiences that convey that. Think of Spotify Wrapped when you’re designing a campaign or a new application.
